New King Fahd Causeway Packages 2026: Discounts and Crossing Fees

The King Fahd Causeway Authority has announced the launch of a new and innovative package for travelers using the “Jisr” digital application. These packages aim to provide flexible solutions and cost-effective options for bridge users on a regular basis. They include attractive discounts ranging from 15% to 40% on tolls and are scheduled to officially take effect on February 18, 2026. This move coincides with an update to the toll structure to ensure service sustainability and enhance operational efficiency.

Details of the new packages and savings options

The organization designed the new packages to meet the needs of different segments of travelers, whether they are daily commuters or weekend travelers. The packages are distributed as follows:

  • Frequent Flyer Package: This is the ideal option for employees, students, and daily commuters, offering a discount of up to 40%. The package costs SAR 850 and allows the user 40 one-way or return passes valid for one month, whichever comes first.
  • Frequent Flyer Package: This package targets individuals who travel infrequently but regularly. It offers a discount of up to 20%, totaling SAR 1,120, and grants the user 40 passes valid for a full year, providing significant flexibility.
  • Round Trip Package: Designed for travelers planning short, specific trips, this package offers a 15% discount of 60 riyals. It is valid for one week from the date of the first crossing and includes two crossings only.

Amendment to tolls and vehicle fees

In a related context, the organization clarified that February 18, 2026, will also see the implementation of the new pricing for basic tolls without a subscription. Under the amendments, tolls for small cars and motorcycles will be 35 riyals, while minibuses will be charged at 55 riyals and large buses at 70 riyals. Trucks will be charged based on weight at a rate of 7 riyals per ton, reflecting a move to regulate heavy transport and improve infrastructure efficiency.

Strategic importance and historical context

The King Fahd Causeway, officially opened in 1986, is the main artery and only land link between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Bahrain. Stretching 25 kilometers, the bridge has played a pivotal role in strengthening social and economic ties between the two brotherly nations since its construction. Beyond serving as a crossing for travelers, the bridge is a vital corridor for trade and the flow of goods, making it one of the most important logistical landmarks in the Arabian Gulf region.

Economic impact and digital transformation

These steps are part of the organization's digital transformation strategy, which aims to promote the use of the "Jisr" app. This will help reduce waiting times at the gates and facilitate the flow of heavy traffic, especially during holidays and peak seasons. The new packages are expected to mitigate the financial impact of the toll increase on frequent bridge users, such as employees residing in one kingdom and working in the other, while also supporting the tourism sector by encouraging repeat visits with preferential rates.
