Hajj services: King Fahd Causeway welcomes Bahraini pilgrims in 51 languages

Comprehensive preparations for the Hajj season

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by its branch in the Eastern Province, announced the completion of its preparations to receive pilgrims from the Kingdom of Bahrain via the King Fahd Causeway for this year's Hajj season. These efforts are part of the comprehensive system of services provided by the Kingdom to the pilgrims, aiming to facilitate their spiritual journey and ensure their comfort from the moment they arrive in the Holy Land.

Historical background and strategic importance of the King Fahd Causeway

The King Fahd Causeway, officially opened in 1986, is a vital artery connecting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Bahrain, and is considered one of the most important land crossings in the region. During the Hajj season, the importance of this crossing increases significantly, as it serves as the main gateway for thousands of Bahraini pilgrims and residents, necessitating exceptional arrangements to ensure smooth traffic flow and the provision of optimal services. The Ministry branch has established its official headquarters at the crossing with highly qualified and trained field personnel to serve the pilgrims and provide them with the necessary support.

Innovative guidance and technical services

On the awareness and guidance front, preachers intensified their efforts by delivering guidance programs and sermons at the King Fahd Causeway Mosque after the obligatory prayers. Preliminary statistics indicate that 23 sermons were delivered, in addition to answering more than 200 religious inquiries through the “Answering a Questioner” platform, thus contributing to educating pilgrims about their faith and rituals. In a move reflecting the Kingdom’s commitment to harnessing technology to serve the guests of God, the Ministry activated an interactive screen for the electronic Islamic library at the crossing point. This screen provides pilgrims with free access to a wealth of knowledge comprising more than 1,000 diverse scholarly resources, including written, audio, and video materials, translated into 51 international languages, to meet the needs of pilgrims from various nationalities and cultures.

Regional and international impact of the initiative

This initiative is of paramount importance, as it not only facilitates the journey of Bahraini pilgrims but also reflects the deep fraternal ties between the two kingdoms. Internationally, these efforts showcase the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's civilized image in serving Islam and Muslims, and reaffirm its leadership in managing Hajj and Umrah seasons with efficiency and competence. Providing guidance materials in dozens of languages is a global message that underscores the Kingdom's commitment to conveying Islam's tolerant message to pilgrims in their own tongues, thus enriching their spiritual experience and helping them perform their rituals with understanding. These preparations fall within the Ministry's comprehensive strategy to enhance the quality of services provided to pilgrims, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and the "Serving the Guests of God" program, which aims to enrich and deepen the Hajj and Umrah experience.
