King Salman will cover the expenses of sacrificial offerings for guests of the Hajj program 1445

In a generous gesture reflecting his profound care for the guests of God, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God protect him, has issued a royal decree to cover the costs of sacrificial offerings for all pilgrims hosted under the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' Guests Program for Hajj, Umrah, and Visitation this year (1445 AH). This decree encompasses all thousands of guests from around the world who are performing Hajj at the Kingdom's expense.

This royal gesture is an extension of the charitable and benevolent work that the leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has consistently undertaken, particularly in serving the pilgrims of the Sacred House of God and facilitating their performance of the Hajj rituals with ease and tranquility. The sacrifice (Hadi) is an obligation of Hajj for those performing Tamattu' or Qiran Hajj, and it represents a financial burden for some pilgrims. With this generous act, King Salman relieves his guests of this burden, allowing them to devote themselves to worship and supplication in the holy sites.

Historical background of the hosting program

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' Guests Program for Hajj and Umrah dates back to the reign of the late King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud (may God have mercy on him). It has continued and expanded under subsequent kings, becoming one of the Kingdom's most prominent Islamic and humanitarian outreach programs. The program aims to host prominent Islamic figures, families of martyrs and those injured in action from various countries such as Palestine, Yemen, and Sudan, as well as new Muslims and academic elites from around the world. It provides a comprehensive package of services including travel tickets, luxury accommodation, transportation, and meals, in addition to organizing religious and cultural programs to introduce them to the Kingdom's history and Islamic landmarks.

The importance and expected impact of the initiative

This initiative carries significant religious, humanitarian, and political dimensions. Domestically, this generous gesture reinforces King Salman's image as a leader who prioritizes the well-being of pilgrims and truly embodies the title "Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques," further strengthening the people's support for their leadership. Regionally and internationally, this act of generosity sends a powerful message reflecting the Kingdom's leading role in the Islamic world. It extends beyond the logistical and security management of the Hajj to encompass the personal generosity of the head of state, deepening the bonds of brotherhood and affection with Muslim nations. Such initiatives also contribute to enhancing the Kingdom's soft diplomacy, showcasing its humanitarian and civilized face to the world, and reaffirming its commitment to serving Islam and Muslims without discrimination.

The guests expressed their deep gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for this generous gesture that brought joy to their hearts, stressing that this generosity is not surprising from the Kingdom’s leadership, which has placed serving the guests of God at the forefront of its priorities.
