Delivery of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' gift of dates to Italy and North Macedonia

As part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's ongoing humanitarian efforts, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance continued implementing the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud's gift program to distribute premium dates in various countries around the world. A busy day saw deliveries made to both the Republic of Italy and the Republic of North Macedonia, reaffirming the Kingdom's noble mission to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and solidarity with Muslims and friendly communities worldwide.

The handover ceremony took place in the Italian capital, Rome

The gift was presented at a ceremony held at the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Rome, Italy, where the Head of the Political and Economic Section, Mr. Abdulaziz Nasser Al-Asim, handed over the allocated quantity. The ceremony was attended by the Secretary-General of the Islamic Cultural Center in Rome, Dr. Abdullah Radwan, the Center's President, Naeem Nasrallah, and several embassy staff members. Italy's share of this program amounted to five tons of premium dates, expected to benefit approximately 20,000 people. The dates will be distributed according to a well-organized mechanism in coordination with Islamic centers and associations to ensure they reach those in need across various Italian cities.

Continued support for Muslims in North Macedonia

In a related development, Saudi Arabia extended its charitable hand to the Republic of North Macedonia, where the Ministry, represented by the Religious Attaché at the Kingdom's Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, organized a ceremony to deliver a gift at the headquarters of the Islamic Community. The ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Albania (and non-resident Ambassador to North Macedonia), Faisal bin Ghazi Hafzi, and the Deputy Grand Mufti of the Republic, Sheikh Ersal Yaqubi. Five tons of dates were allocated, benefiting more than 20,000 people, reflecting the Saudi leadership's commitment to addressing the needs of Muslims in the Balkans.

Program dimensions and global impact

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' Dates Gift Program is one of the most important annual programs implemented by the Kingdom, aiming this year to distribute hundreds of tons of dates to 120 countries worldwide. This program is not only valuable for its nutritional content but also carries profound symbolic significance, reflecting authentic Arab generosity and the Kingdom's position as the heart of the Muslim world and a guardian of its affairs. The program contributes to strengthening the Kingdom's soft power and consolidating diplomatic and public relations with recipient countries. It also highlights the Kingdom's pioneering role in transnational charitable and humanitarian work, which transcends race and color, aiming instead to serve humanity and deepen the meaning of social solidarity.
