The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, expressed his profound pleasure and appreciation for the tremendous efforts and dedication demonstrated by all government agencies and sectors involved in organizing this year's Hajj season. In a congratulatory message on the occasion of Eid al-Adha and the successful completion of the Hajj season, he affirmed that the diligence and dedication he witnessed in serving the pilgrims and facilitating their journey is a source of pride for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its leadership, and its people. This commendation comes as a culmination of months of continuous efforts to ensure a safe and accessible Hajj experience for the millions of Muslims who flocked to the Holy Land from all corners of the earth.
A historical responsibility and a noble mission
The importance of organizing the Hajj transcends its status as a mere annual event; it represents a cornerstone of the Kingdom's identity and historical mission. Since the founding of the Saudi state, its leaders have borne the honor of serving the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors, a responsibility enshrined in the title "Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques," reflecting the magnitude of this duty. Over the decades, the Kingdom has invested immense resources in developing the infrastructure of the holy sites, from expanding the Two Holy Mosques and constructing the Jamarat Bridge to developing road and rail networks and providing the latest technologies to ensure the safety and comfort of the pilgrims. These accumulated efforts throughout history have built the integrated system we see today, managed with exceptional efficiency to accommodate millions of pilgrims annually.
Developing the Hajj service system: A vision for the future
The success of the Hajj season has an impact not only on the local level but also enhances the Kingdom's standing regionally and internationally. Successfully managing this massive human gathering sends a powerful message about the state's capabilities and the efficiency of its institutions, thus strengthening its political and religious influence in the Islamic world. Domestically, the season represents a significant economic driver and an opportunity to showcase Saudi hospitality. In line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030, the Hajj service qualitative leaps in recent years, with the widespread adoption of digital technologies such as smart Hajj applications and the "Nusk" card, which have streamlined many procedures for pilgrims, from obtaining visas to moving between the holy sites. This continuous development confirms that the Kingdom is not content with current successes but is always looking to the future to provide a more accessible and spiritually enriching Hajj experience for generations to come.
