King Salman's address on the occasion of Ramadan 1447: Messages of faith and calls for peace

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God protect him, addressed a comprehensive message to the citizens and residents of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and to Muslims worldwide on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan 1447 AH. The message was delivered on his behalf by His Excellency the Minister of Media, Mr. Salman bin Yousef Al-Dossari, and it contained profound religious meanings and humanitarian messages calling for unity and compassion.
The month of mercy and forgiveness
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques began his address by praising and thanking God, congratulating the Muslim Ummah on the arrival of this blessed month, in which the gates of Paradise are opened, and which presents a golden opportunity for purifying the soul and drawing closer to God through righteous deeds. He cited the verse: “O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous,” emphasizing the greatness of this religious occasion, in which the highest meanings of servitude to God are manifested, and which includes the Night of Decree, which is better than a thousand months.
The honor of serving the Two Holy Mosques: a firmly established approach
In discussing the Kingdom's leading role, King Salman bin Abdulaziz emphasized the great honor bestowed upon Saudi Arabia by God: serving the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors, including pilgrims and Umrah performers. This affirmation is a continuation of the long-standing historical approach adopted by the Saudi state since its founding, whereby all its kings and resources have been dedicated to the care of the Islamic holy sites. The wise leadership places great importance on developing the services in Mecca and Medina to ensure the performance of rituals with ease and tranquility, a commitment clearly demonstrated by the expansion projects and advanced logistical services witnessed at the Two Holy Mosques year after year.
Values of solidarity and the call for world peace
The royal address emphasized that Ramadan is a season for strengthening the values of compassion and social solidarity among Muslims, and for thanking God for His manifest and hidden blessings. The address also addressed the humanitarian and political aspects of concern to the Muslim world, including sincere prayers that God bestow security, peace, and stability upon our brothers and sisters in Palestine, and upon the entire Muslim world and the world at large. This prayer reflects the Kingdom's unwavering support for Arab and Islamic causes, and its constant commitment to establishing peace and rejecting conflicts in the region and the world, especially given the exceptional circumstances facing some Arab countries.
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques concluded his speech by praying that God accept everyone’s fasting and prayers, that He perpetuate the blessings of security and prosperity upon the Kingdom, and that He bring this great occasion back to everyone with goodness and joy.
