Knowledge Economic City wins two awards at Global Economics 2025

Knowledge Economic City, a leading real estate developer listed on the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul), has achieved another international milestone, adding to its impressive track record, by winning two prestigious awards at the Global Economics Awards 2025. This recognition is a culmination of its ongoing efforts to contribute to the urban and economic transformation underway in Madinah, under the supervision of the Economic Cities and Special Zones Authority.
Details of the global award
The awards ceremony saw Knowledge Economic City honored with the "Most Innovative Iconic Design for City Gate Project" award and the "Best Real Estate Developer in Integrated Urban Destination Development in Saudi Arabia" . The Global Economics Awards platform is one of the leading international platforms recognizing institutional excellence in the economic development, infrastructure, and real estate development sectors worldwide.

City Gate: A quantum leap in the concept of transportation and development
The "City Gate" project occupies a strategic position within the company's portfolio, being the first Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The significance of this development lies in its direct connection to the Haramain High-Speed Railway station, facilitating the movement of pilgrims, Umrah performers, and visitors arriving from Makkah and Jeddah, and enhancing accessibility to the Prophet's Mosque.
Investments in this vital project amount to approximately 620 million Saudi Riyals, with the first phase spanning over 23,000 square meters of leasable space. The project includes a 325-room DoubleTree by Hilton hotel, making it a comprehensive destination that combines hospitality, shopping, and transportation in one central location.
Strategic and economic importance
This achievement is not merely architectural; it reflects Knowledge Economic City's commitment to supporting the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. The company's projects directly contribute to the Vision's ambitious programs, specifically the "Guests of God Service Program" and the "Quality of Life Program." By developing advanced infrastructure and modern facilities, the city helps accommodate the increasing number of visitors while offering an urban experience that enriches the cultural and spiritual aspects of Madinah.
In this context, Hazem Al-Banna, the acting CEO of Knowledge Economic City, affirmed that this double recognition solidifies Madinah's position as a global model for urban development. He noted that the company adopts a "humanizing cities" approach, where design is centered around people and their needs, creating vibrant environments that blend innovation and authenticity.
Sustainability and governance standards
The "Best Real Estate Developer" award reflects the company's excellence in implementing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards. The Knowledge Economic City, whose master plans span 6.8 million square meters, is working to build long-term strategic partnerships that ensure asset sustainability and maximize the region's economic and social impact, thus enhancing Madinah's appeal as a global investment and tourism destination.
