King Salman Center distributes aid in Sudan, Chad, Lebanon and Niger

As part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s leading role in global humanitarian work, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center its intensive efforts to provide assistance to the most vulnerable and displaced people across the globe. Recent aid included food distributions, shelter, and medical services in four countries: Chad, Lebanon, Sudan, and Niger, targeting thousands of affected families.

Food and health support in Chad

As part of its ongoing relief efforts in the Sahel region of Africa, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center distributed 800 cartons of dates and 800 personal hygiene kits for women in the Chari-Garmi region of Chad. This aid benefited 800 families, including vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities, widows, and refugees. This initiative is part of the Center's broader projects to distribute 800 tons of dates and 13,500 personal hygiene kits, reflecting the Kingdom's commitment to meeting the basic needs and upholding the human dignity of beneficiaries in these areas facing economic and climatic challenges.

Vital ambulance services in Lebanon

In a related development within the health sector, the center continued its funding of the ambulance services provided by the "Subul al-Salam Social Association" in the Minieh region of northern Lebanon. Last week, the ambulance service carried out 34 missions, transporting patients and the injured to and from hospitals. This assistance is of paramount importance given the difficult economic conditions in Lebanon, as both Syrian refugees and the Lebanese host community benefit from these services, thus alleviating pressure on the local health sector.

Relief for displaced people in Sudan

In response to the escalating humanitarian crisis in Sudan, the center distributed 2,513 food baskets targeting displaced and vulnerable families in Kosti locality, White Nile State. This aid benefited 18,678 individuals. The assistance is part of the "Madad Project" allocated to the Republic of Sudan for 2026, at a time when White Nile State is experiencing a large influx of displaced people fleeing conflict zones, making food security a top priority for the Kingdom.

Supporting stability in Niger

Saudi Arabia's humanitarian efforts also extended to the Republic of Niger, where the center distributed 803 food baskets in the village of Dandaji Maku in the city of Maradi, benefiting 5,621 individuals from 803 families. This support falls under the 2026 Niger Displaced Persons, Refugees and Host Communities Support Project, aimed at combating food insecurity in vulnerable communities.

Historical context and international impact

These coordinated actions reaffirm the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's consistent approach since the establishment of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre in 2015, which has successfully implemented thousands of projects in over 90 countries worldwide without discrimination. This aid plays a pivotal role in promoting regional stability and alleviating humanitarian crises resulting from conflicts or natural disasters, thus solidifying the Kingdom's position as one of the world's largest donors of humanitarian and development assistance.
