King Salman Center aid: Clothing and food for Yemen and Pakistan

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center continues its leading role in providing assistance to those in need and affected around the world, intensifying its field efforts in the Republic of Yemen and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, as part of a series of vital projects aimed at alleviating the suffering of the most needy groups and providing them with the requirements for a decent life.

Winter and food aid in Hadhramaut

As part of the 2026 winter clothing distribution project (Kanaf), the center distributed 1,000 shopping vouchers in the Tarim district of Hadramawt Governorate. These vouchers allow beneficiaries to choose and purchase suitable winter clothing from approved stores. One thousand displaced persons and members of the host community benefited from this initiative, helping to protect them from the cold.

In parallel with winter aid, the center strengthened food security in the governorate by distributing 4,700 food baskets in the districts of Al-Sum and Sayun. This assistance is part of the Emergency Food Interventions Project in Yemen, targeting 32,900 individuals to bridge the food gap and provide basic necessities for affected families.

Strengthening the educational system in Lahj

Believing in the importance of education as a cornerstone of development and stability, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center concluded its project to enhance the educational process in the Al-Hawta and Tuban districts of Lahj Governorate for the academic year (2025-2026). The project achieved tangible accomplishments, including:

  • Distributing school bags and school uniforms to students.
  • Rehabilitation and restoration of 90 classrooms to ensure a safe learning environment.
  • Providing schools with office furniture, sports development equipment, and first aid kits.
  • Training and qualifying 78 volunteers from the educational staff.
  • Providing educational kits for 486 educational and administrative staff.

This vital project has benefited 6,464 male and female students distributed across 10 schools, contributing to reducing school dropout rates and raising the quality of education in the governorate.

The importance of humanitarian interventions in Yemen

This aid is of paramount strategic importance given the dire economic and humanitarian conditions in Yemen. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, is among the largest supporters of the Yemeni people. These projects contribute to strengthening community resilience, stimulating the local economy, and ensuring the continuity of essential services such as education, healthcare, and food in affected areas.

Urgent winter aid in Pakistan

Internationally, Saudi Arabia extended its humanitarian aid to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to help it cope with the severe cold wave. The center distributed 6,635 winter kits, benefiting 45,151 individuals affected by the floods and cold weather.

The distribution covered several areas, including Qala-e-Saifullah, Qala-e-Abdullah, and Pishin in Balochistan, Multan and Khanewal in Punjab, as well as areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir. This aid is part of the 2026 Kanf project in Pakistan, reaffirming the Kingdom's commitment to supporting brotherly and friendly nations during times of crisis and natural disasters.
