The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center provides medical and food assistance in 4 countries

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center , continued its leading role in alleviating human suffering around the world. The Center intensified its relief and medical efforts during November 2025, targeting the most vulnerable groups in four countries: Yemen, Sudan, Afghanistan, and Chad. These initiatives are part of the Kingdom's strategy to support food and health security in countries facing complex crises.

Urgent medical response in Yemen

In Yemen, the emergency cholera response project achieved tangible results, providing medical services to 7,815 individuals. Efforts focused on rigorous epidemiological surveillance at key entry points such as Aden and Al-Rayyan airports, and the Al-Hafiya and Razih border crossings, covering the governorates of Hadramawt (coastal and inland), Aden, Hajjah, and Sa'dah. Reports confirmed that no suspected or confirmed cases of cholera were recorded, reflecting the effectiveness of the preventive measures implemented.

The role wasn't limited to screening; it extended to awareness-raising through the implementation of 673 educational sessions, benefiting approximately 13,860 individuals. These efforts are of paramount importance given the fragility of Yemen's health system due to years of conflict, as preventing disease outbreaks is the first line of defense for protecting civilians and reducing the strain on already overburdened hospitals.

Supporting food security in Sudan, Afghanistan and Chad

In terms of food security, the center directed its convoys to Sudan, specifically to the city of Jibit in Red Sea State, where 1,000 food baskets were distributed, benefiting 1,000 displaced and needy families. This support comes at a critical time when Sudan is facing significant economic and humanitarian challenges that require sustained international intervention to ensure food security for families affected by the conflict.

In the Asian context, aid was provided to Baghlan province in Afghanistan, where the center distributed 750 food baskets to returning families as part of a project spanning 2025-2026. This project aims to facilitate the reintegration of returnees and provide them with a decent life amidst difficult living conditions.

In Africa, Saudi Arabia's humanitarian aid reached the Lake Chad region, where 900 food baskets were distributed, benefiting 5,300 displaced people affected by the security crisis in the Lake Chad Basin. This region is a hotspot of security tensions requiring continuous humanitarian support to prevent the worsening of the hunger crisis among the displaced.

This diverse aid reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s unwavering commitment to humanitarian principles and its keenness to extend a helping hand to those in need, regardless of geography or race, thus enhancing its position as one of the world’s largest donors of humanitarian aid.
