Al-Rabeeah discusses humanitarian support for Palestine with the Minister of Social Development
As part of the ongoing efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support Arab and Islamic causes, foremost among them the Palestinian cause, His Excellency the Advisor at the Royal Court and General Supervisor of the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, held an important meeting via video conference today with Her Excellency the Minister of Social Development and Acting Minister of State for Relief Affairs in the State of Palestine, Dr. Samah Hamad.
This meeting comes at a crucial time, necessitating concerted international and regional efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people. The two sides discussed a range of issues of mutual interest, primarily focusing on relief and humanitarian affairs. The discussions also addressed ways to strengthen the strategic bilateral partnership to support humanitarian work in the Palestinian territories, with an emphasis on mechanisms to provide comprehensive care for the most vulnerable groups, thereby contributing to maintaining social cohesion and strengthening internal solidarity under the current circumstances.
Sustainable Saudi Support Strategy
During the meeting, Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah affirmed that the Kingdom, under the wise guidance of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Prime Minister – may God protect them – places the Palestinian cause at the forefront of its humanitarian priorities. He explained that the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center is committed to diversifying its support programs to include food security, shelter, and health, ensuring sustainable human development that extends beyond emergency aid to strengthen the resilience of the Palestinian people on their land.
It is worth noting that this support is not a recent development, but rather an extension of a long history of Saudi Arabia’s firm stances towards Palestine. The Kingdom, through the King Salman Relief Center, has operated continuous air and sea bridges, especially during the recent crises in the Gaza Strip, to transport thousands of tons of medical, food and shelter aid, reflecting the depth of the fraternal ties between the two peoples.
Palestinian praise for the Saudi role
For her part, Dr. Samah Hamad commended the leading role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the humanitarian field, praising the outstanding professionalism and high level of expertise demonstrated by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center in managing and distributing aid. She emphasized that the Center's humanitarian interventions have had a profound impact on alleviating the severity of the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip and throughout the Palestinian territories.
The Palestinian minister concluded her remarks by expressing her thanks and gratitude to the wise Saudi leadership for the generous assistance and noble stances that always affirm the Kingdom’s support for the Palestinian cause and its unlimited support to provide a decent life for the Palestinian people in the darkest of circumstances.
