King Salman Relief Center distributes food aid in 4 countries

As part of the ongoing humanitarian efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to extend a helping hand to those in need around the world, the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid to implement its various relief programs, with the latest aid including the distribution of food baskets and dates in four countries: Afghanistan, Lebanon, Sudan, and Chad, targeting thousands of families from the most needy groups and refugees.
Afghanistan: Supporting returnees and orphans
As part of the Food Security and Emergency Relief Project in Afghanistan, the Center distributed urgent aid in several provinces. In Taloqan, the capital of Takhar province, 178 food baskets were distributed, benefiting 1,068 individuals, including returnees and orphans. Simultaneously, 548 food baskets were distributed in Kunduz province, benefiting 3,288 individuals. This aid comes at a crucial time to bolster the livelihoods of Afghan families facing severe economic challenges, within the framework of the project's 2026 plan.
Lebanon: Relief for refugees and the host community
In Lebanon, the center intensified its efforts in the Mount Lebanon and Akkar governorates, distributing 1,650 food baskets and 1,650 cartons of dates in the village of Aramoun and other areas. This aid benefited 8,250 Syrian and Palestinian refugees, as well as needy families within the host community. This assistance is of paramount importance given the current economic conditions in Lebanon, as it helps alleviate the financial burdens on vulnerable groups.
Sudan and Chad: Ongoing air and land bridge
Saudi Arabia’s benevolent hand has extended to the African continent, where the center distributed 2,000 cartons of dates in North Kordofan State in Sudan (Sheikan locality), benefiting 8,048 individuals, as part of a huge project aimed at distributing 267 tons of dates to support food security in Sudan, which is suffering from exceptional humanitarian conditions.
In Chad, the center distributed 750 food baskets in the Kanem region, benefiting 4,500 individuals. This aid is part of the Kingdom's strategy to support Sahel countries in facing drought and food shortages.

These field initiatives embody the leading role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, which was established to serve as an international umbrella for relief efforts. These projects aim not only to provide food but also to promote sustainable food security and achieve social stability in areas affected by conflict and disasters, in line with the Kingdom's vision of supporting global humanitarian causes without discrimination.
