King Salman Relief Center distributes food baskets and tents in Gaza

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center continued its intensive humanitarian efforts in the Gaza Strip, distributing large quantities of food baskets in the eastern Salah al-Din Street area of Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Strip. This initiative is part of a series of urgent relief efforts undertaken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to alleviate the humanitarian crisis facing the Palestinian people.

Field efforts in Khan Younis

The distribution targeted displaced families living in dire conditions in the area, where hundreds of families reside in makeshift tents erected on the ruins of destroyed homes. This relief effort was carried out in cooperation with the Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage, the implementing partner of the King Salman Center in the sector, according to precise organizational mechanisms that ensured the safety of field teams and the direct delivery of aid to those in need, despite significant security and logistical challenges on the ground.

The humanitarian crisis is worsening and the need for support is increasing

This aid is of paramount importance given the overall situation in the Gaza Strip, where UN reports indicate worsening food insecurity and a severe shortage of basic supplies. Khan Younis, which has received a massive influx of displaced people from the northern and central parts of the Strip, is one of the areas most in need of urgent relief intervention. This Saudi support helps bridge a significant gap in the daily food needs of affected families, thus strengthening their resilience in the face of these harsh conditions.

Aid convoys through the Rafah crossing

In parallel with the on-the-ground food distribution, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center dispatched an additional aid convoy through the Rafah border crossing. This convoy carried large quantities of tents and shelter materials in response to the urgent need to provide shelter for displaced people who lost their homes. The center is working diligently to establish new camps and equip them with essential supplies, striving to provide a minimum standard of living for those affected.

Saudi Popular Campaign to Aid the Palestinian People

These field initiatives fall under the umbrella of the "Saudi Popular Campaign to Aid the Palestinian People in the Gaza Strip," launched by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Prime Minister. This campaign reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's longstanding and unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, not only politically, but also through continuous humanitarian and developmental aid aimed at alleviating the suffering of civilians and providing a lifeline during times of crisis and war.
