King Salman Relief Center's efforts in Gaza: Distributing hot meals to displaced people
the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid continued its intensive humanitarian efforts in the Gaza Strip through the project to develop and operate the central kitchen, where field teams distributed thousands of hot meals to displaced and affected families in the Strip. This step comes as part of a series of ongoing initiatives implemented by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through its humanitarian arm to provide relief to the brotherly Palestinian people.
High health standards and continuous field efforts
Specialized teams mobilized their resources from the early morning hours to begin cooking and preparation, taking great care to adhere to the highest health and safety standards to ensure the quality and safety of the meals provided. Field teams from the Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage – the implementing partner of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center – are working in close coordination to ensure these meals reach those in need in shelters and the most vulnerable communities, which are suffering from a severe shortage of basic food supplies.
Context of the Saudi popular campaign to aid Palestine
These tireless efforts are an integral part of the Saudi popular campaign to aid the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, launched by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Prime Minister – may God protect them both. Since its inception, this campaign has successfully established a massive air and sea bridge, comprising dozens of aircraft and ships carrying thousands of tons of food, medical supplies, and shelter materials, reflecting the strong popular and official Saudi solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Palestine.
The importance of humanitarian intervention in light of the current crisis
The distribution of hot meals at this time is of paramount strategic and humanitarian importance, given the deteriorating infrastructure and the closure of most bakeries and commercial kitchens in the Gaza Strip due to fuel and raw material shortages. These ready-made meals help sustain thousands of families who have lost the ability to cook, thus alleviating the severity of the humanitarian crisis and protecting the most vulnerable groups, such as children and the elderly, from the risks of malnutrition.
The Kingdom's leading role in humanitarian work
These on-the-ground initiatives underscore the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's leading role in humanitarian work at both the regional and international levels, and its longstanding and unwavering commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause in all forums and circumstances. Saudi aid is not limited to food; it extends to the health sector, providing essential medical supplies to hospitals, thus reflecting the deep fraternal ties between the Saudi and Palestinian peoples.
