Saudi Arabia provides aid to Gaza: King Salman Center distributes 30,000 hot meals

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid, continued its tireless efforts to alleviate the suffering of the brotherly Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, through the implementation of urgent food programs targeting the most affected groups in light of the difficult humanitarian conditions in the Strip.

In its latest report, the center stated that its team distributed 30,000 hot meals the day before yesterday, targeting displaced persons and needy families in central and southern Gaza. This distribution is part of a vital project aimed at developing and operating the central kitchen to ensure the sustainable provision of healthy, hot food to thousands of beneficiaries daily.

Project details and beneficiaries

The center explained that the meals were distributed directly to the most vulnerable groups, benefiting approximately 30,000 individuals suffering from severe food insecurity. The project focuses on reaching densely populated areas with displaced people in the central and southern regions, which have experienced a large influx of people due to the ongoing events, placing immense pressure on available resources.

Context of the Saudi popular campaign

This aid comes as an integral part of the "Saudi Popular Campaign to Aid the Palestinian People in the Gaza Strip," launched by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Prime Minister. Since its inception, this campaign has successfully raised substantial financial donations through the "Sahem" platform, reflecting the widespread Saudi public solidarity with their brothers and sisters in Palestine.

Historical role and firm stance

This aid is not a one-off event, but rather an extension of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's historical and unwavering stance on the Palestinian cause. For decades, the Kingdom has been at the forefront of donor countries supporting Palestine politically, economically, and humanely. In the current crisis, the Kingdom has established a continuous air and sea bridge, comprising dozens of planes and ships carrying thousands of tons of food, medical supplies, shelter materials, and ambulances to meet the urgent needs of those affected.

The importance of humanitarian intervention at the present time

This humanitarian intervention is of paramount importance given international warnings of a worsening hunger crisis in the Gaza Strip. The hot meals provided by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center help bridge a significant food gap, providing the minimum caloric intake necessary for survival, particularly for children, women, and the elderly living in shelters or in the open. These efforts underscore the Kingdom's unwavering commitment to standing with the Palestinian people in times of hardship and crisis, and to dedicating all available resources to alleviating the suffering caused by this humanitarian catastrophe.
