Distribution of sacrificial animals in Sudan: Saudi aid for 600 families in White Nile State
As part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing humanitarian efforts, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center implemented its sacrificial meat distribution project in Sudan , distributing 300 animals in Kosti locality, White Nile State. This initiative targeted 600 of the most vulnerable and displaced families, benefiting a total of 4,805 individuals, in an effort to alleviate their suffering and bring joy to their hearts during the blessed Eid al-Adha.
This aid comes at a critical time for Sudan, which is experiencing a complex humanitarian crisis due to internal conflicts and a growing number of internally displaced persons (IDPs), exacerbating food insecurity for millions. White Nile State is among the states that have received a large influx of IDPs, placing immense pressure on its limited resources. In this context, the sacrificial meat project takes on added significance, not only providing a vital source of protein but also reviving an important religious practice for Muslims: the sacrifice of an animal, which symbolizes giving, sacrifice, and solidarity.

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, established in 2015, is the humanitarian arm of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and has a proven track record of providing assistance to affected countries around the world. The Center's efforts in Sudan have not been limited to seasonal projects such as distributing sacrificial animals, but have encompassed multiple vital sectors including health, education, water, sanitation, and food security. These ongoing projects underscore the Kingdom's deep commitment to supporting the brotherly Sudanese people and helping them overcome current challenges and strengthen their resilience in the face of crises.
A humanitarian impact that goes beyond food
The distribution of sacrificial meat has far more than just a nutritional impact; it extends to profound psychological and social dimensions. For the beneficiary families, this initiative represents a rare opportunity to celebrate Eid al-Adha like other Muslims, reinforcing their sense of dignity and hope. These initiatives also contribute to strengthening the values of compassion and social solidarity within local communities, reminding everyone of the importance of standing by vulnerable groups, especially during times of hardship. The project reflects the Kingdom's leading role in humanitarian work on the international stage and its tireless efforts to extend a helping hand to those in need, wherever they may be. The sacrificial meat distribution project in White Nile State represents another link in the chain of Saudi Arabia's ongoing support for Sudan, a message of humanitarian solidarity aimed at alleviating suffering and bringing smiles to the faces of thousands.
