King Salman Center distributes shelter aid in Saada, Yemen

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center continued its tireless efforts to provide assistance to the brotherly Yemeni people, distributing emergency shelter aid yesterday in Saada Governorate, northern Yemen. The aid included 150 tents and 80 shelter kits in the Razih District, directly benefiting 1,350 individuals from the most vulnerable and affected families in the area.
This aid comes as part of the "Emergency Shelter Project" implemented by the center in various Yemeni governorates, aiming to provide dignified shelter for families who have lost their homes or been displaced due to the difficult circumstances the country is experiencing. This step is part of a long series of humanitarian interventions aimed at alleviating the suffering of Yemeni citizens in areas of greatest need.
A humanitarian context and a history of giving
Yemen has been experiencing one of the world's worst humanitarian crises for years, with UN reports indicating that millions of internally displaced people lack the most basic necessities such as shelter, food, and medicine. In this context, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre, plays a pivotal and historic role in responding to this crisis. The Kingdom is the largest donor to Yemen, providing billions of dollars to support UN-sponsored humanitarian response plans.
The center's efforts are not limited to shelter assistance alone, but extend to several vital sectors such as food security, health, water and sanitation, and education, in addition to protection and psychosocial support programs. These integrated programs aim to strengthen the resilience of the Yemeni people and help them overcome current economic and living challenges.
The importance of intervention in Saada Governorate
The distribution of aid in Sa'dah Governorate, particularly in Razih District, is of particular importance due to the rugged mountainous terrain and harsh climatic conditions that families lacking adequate shelter may face. Providing tents and shelter kits helps protect families from the elements, preserves their human dignity, and reduces the health risks associated with living in the open.
The arrival of aid from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center in these areas reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's unwavering commitment to assisting all the people of Yemen without discrimination, and to reaching those in need across all governorates and districts, regardless of logistical challenges. These ongoing efforts underscore the deep fraternal ties between the Saudi and Yemeni peoples, and the Kingdom's steadfast commitment to standing by Yemen in its time of need until it recovers and achieves stability.
