King Salman Center distributes winter clothing vouchers in Daraa 2026

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid , continued its tireless efforts to alleviate the suffering of the brotherly Syrian people. Yesterday, the center distributed 566 shopping vouchers that enable beneficiaries to purchase winter clothing in the Busra al-Sham area of Daraa Governorate in southern Syria.
This distribution comes within the framework of the “Kanaf” project for 2026, which aims to provide winter clothing to the most needy families. 566 individuals from eligible categories benefited from this batch, reflecting the continued flow of Saudi relief aid to support those affected in various Syrian governorates.
"Kanaf" Project: A mechanism that preserves dignity and meets needs
The "Kanaf" project, implemented by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, is distinguished by its advanced mechanism that relies on shopping vouchers instead of direct in-kind distribution of clothing. This mechanism aims to give beneficiaries complete freedom of choice in selecting winter clothing that suits them and their children, thus enhancing the dignity of the beneficiaries and stimulating the local economy in the targeted areas.
A difficult humanitarian situation and a harsh winter
This aid is doubly important given the difficult climatic and economic conditions in Syria. With the arrival of winter, temperatures plummet in the interior and highlands, exacerbating the suffering of families lacking heating and adequate clothing. The King Salman Center's initiative comes as a lifeline to many families in Daraa, as winter clothing helps protect children and the elderly from illnesses associated with the harsh cold.
The Kingdom's leading role in relief work
This activity is not an isolated event, but rather part of a long series of humanitarian initiatives led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Since the outbreak of the Syrian crisis, the Kingdom has been at the forefront of relief efforts, providing food, medical, and shelter assistance to both internally displaced persons within Syria and refugees in neighboring countries. The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center operates according to a strategy aimed at reaching the most affected areas, underscoring the Kingdom's unwavering commitment to standing with Arab peoples in their times of crisis.
These ongoing efforts in 2026 reflect the Kingdom’s humanitarian vision that transcends borders, to consolidate the values of solidarity and brotherhood, and affirm that the humanitarian dimension is a fundamental pillar of Saudi foreign policy, especially towards our brothers in Syria.
