King Salman Relief Center inaugurates a modern kidney dialysis unit in Hajjah, Yemen

In a humanitarian gesture reflecting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's ongoing commitment to supporting the health sector in Yemen, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center a specialized kidney dialysis unit yesterday at the Al-Ja'ada Health Center in Hajjah Governorate. The opening ceremony was attended by the Governor of Hajjah, Major General Abdulkarim Al-Sunaini, and a number of officials and specialized medical personnel.
Medical equipment with international standards
During his inspection tour, Major General Al-Sunaini reviewed the modern medical equipment installed in the new unit and received a detailed explanation of the procedures for receiving patients and providing dialysis sessions. The unit is equipped with the latest dialysis technology and supported by a fully integrated water treatment plant built according to the highest international health standards to ensure patient safety and the quality of treatment services provided.
Context of the health crisis in Yemen
This project comes at a time when Yemen's health sector is facing immense challenges due to the ongoing crisis. Many hospitals and health centers are suffering from severe shortages of equipment, medicines, and fuel needed to operate generators. Dialysis centers, in particular, are among the hardest hit, leaving thousands of patients with difficult choices: either travel long and dangerous distances to receive treatment or face serious health complications.
