King Salman Relief Center treats 526 beneficiaries in Hajjah, Yemen
As part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's ongoing humanitarian efforts to support the brotherly Yemeni people, the mobile medical clinic of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center continued providing its medical services in the Al-Deir district of Hiran, Hajjah Governorate. From December 10 to 16, the clinic successfully provided necessary healthcare to 526 beneficiaries, reflecting the Center's commitment to alleviating the suffering of citizens in affected areas.
Details of medical services provided
The medical services provided were diverse, encompassing various vital specialties needed by the region's residents. The infectious disease control clinic received the largest number of patients, with 331, highlighting the crucial role these clinics play in monitoring and combating epidemics in remote areas. The emergency clinic treated 63 cases requiring urgent medical intervention, while 126 patients benefited from the internal medicine clinic's services, and 6 patients visited the reproductive health clinic.
Support services and dispensing of medications
The center's efforts extended beyond medical examinations to include a comprehensive system of support services. The nursing department provided care to 109 patients, while the surgery and dressing clinic treated 18 injured individuals. As part of its commitment to providing integrated treatment, medications were dispensed to 530 people. The medical team also prioritized environmental and public health considerations by implementing two dedicated medical waste disposal activities to ensure the safety of the local community.
The importance of health support in Yemen
These efforts are doubly important given the exceptional circumstances facing the health sector in Yemen, where many areas, particularly in Hajjah Governorate, suffer from a severe shortage of basic medical services and medicines. The mobile clinics of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center serve as a lifeline to isolated areas far from central health centers, contributing to saving lives and curbing the spread of infectious diseases.
The Kingdom's leading role in humanitarian work
This support comes as an extension of the massive relief and development projects implemented by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, across various Yemeni governorates. These initiatives aim to improve the living and health conditions of our brothers and sisters in Yemen and provide health security for the most vulnerable groups, thus reaffirming the deep fraternal ties and shared destiny between the two brotherly nations.
