King Salman Relief Center treats 238 beneficiaries in Saada

The mobile medical clinic of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center continued providing vital medical services in the Razih district of Saada Governorate, Yemen, making a significant contribution to alleviating the suffering of residents in the rugged terrain. From January 7th to 13th, 238 individuals benefited from the clinic's diverse medical services, as part of the ongoing support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to its brothers and sisters in Yemen.
Details of medical services provided
Official clinic statistics revealed a diverse range of cases, reflecting the comprehensiveness of the services provided. The infectious disease control clinic saw 80 patients, a figure highlighting the importance of early disease surveillance in the region. The emergency clinic treated 38 individuals, the internal medicine clinic served 80 patients, and the reproductive health clinic provided services to 11 individuals. The efforts extended beyond treatment to include preventative measures, with 29 people benefiting from health awareness and education programs.
Support services and dispensing of medications
Regarding support services, the nursing department provided care to 92 patients, while free medications were dispensed to 202 individuals, thus alleviating the financial burden on beneficiary families. The surgery and dressing department treated 4 patients, and two activities were carried out to ensure the safe disposal of medical waste and protect the surrounding environment.
The context of humanitarian work and its importance
These efforts come at a time when Yemen's health sector is facing significant challenges due to the current circumstances. Hospital and health center infrastructure has been damaged in many governorates, particularly in border and remote areas such as Saada. Mobile clinics play a pivotal role in bridging the healthcare gap, reaching villages and isolated areas where access to central hospitals is difficult, thus saving patients time, effort, and money.
The King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid is the humanitarian arm of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, implementing hundreds of health projects in various Yemeni governorates without discrimination, with the aim of improving health indicators, reducing the spread of diseases and epidemics, and providing necessary care for the most vulnerable groups of children, women, and the elderly.
