King Salman Relief Clinics treat 355 beneficiaries in Hajjah

As part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's ongoing humanitarian efforts to support the brotherly Yemeni people, mobile medical clinics affiliated with the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center continued providing medical and treatment services in the Al-Deir district of Hiran, Hajjah Governorate. This initiative is part of a series of health initiatives aimed at alleviating the suffering of citizens in affected areas experiencing a severe shortage of basic health services.
From January 21st to 27th, the clinics received 355 patients suffering from various medical conditions, providing them with the necessary care according to the highest available medical standards. Medical services were distributed across various vital specialties; the infectious disease control clinic received the largest number of patients, 190, reflecting the urgent need for epidemic control in those areas. The emergency clinic dealt with 96 critical cases requiring immediate intervention, while the internal medicine clinic saw 65 patients.
The center's efforts were not limited to diagnosis and direct treatment; they also included preventative and awareness-raising services. Four people benefited from the awareness and education clinic, and 80 patients visited the nursing services department. Two medical waste disposal activities were carried out to ensure a safe and healthy environment, and free medications were dispensed to 351 individuals. Additionally, the surgery and dressing clinic received 10 injured patients.
Human context and pioneering role
These services are of paramount importance given the current circumstances in Yemen, where the health sector is facing immense challenges due to accumulated crises, leading to the closure of many health facilities or their inaccessibility in remote areas. Mobile clinics serve as a lifeline for residents of border and rural areas, such as the Hiran district, sparing them the hardship of travel and the exorbitant costs of treatment.
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center is the Kingdom's humanitarian arm, having implemented hundreds of health projects in Yemen. These projects have ranged from supporting hospitals and providing medicines to operating mobile clinics and combating malnutrition. These figures reflect the Kingdom's unwavering commitment to standing with the Yemeni people in their time of need and its effective contribution to improving health indicators and reducing the spread of diseases and epidemics, thus having a tangible positive impact on the lives of individuals and families in various Yemeni governorates.
