King Salman Center sends aid convoy to Gaza via Rafah
As part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's ongoing humanitarian efforts to support the Palestinian people, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center a new aid convoy yesterday through the Rafah border crossing into the Gaza Strip. This convoy carried a large quantity of tents and shelter supplies, as part of the Saudi popular campaign to aid the Palestinian people, launched at the direction of the wise leadership to stand with those affected in the Gaza Strip.
Strengthening the housing system in Gaza
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center is working intensively to establish new camps to shelter displaced people who have lost their homes due to the ongoing conflict. This convoy is part of an ongoing supply chain aimed at providing dignified shelter for affected families, with tents being a vital component given the severe shortage of building materials and the destruction of residential infrastructure in the Gaza Strip. This initiative comes in response to the urgent need to provide safe and well-equipped areas that protect displaced people from harsh weather conditions.
Central kitchen and meal distribution project
In parallel with shelter efforts, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center continued implementing its project to develop and operate the central kitchen in the Gaza Strip. Field teams distributed thousands of hot meals to displaced people across the Strip yesterday. Specialized staff began cooking and preparing the meals early in the morning, adhering strictly to the highest health and safety standards to ensure the quality and safety of the food provided to beneficiaries.
Field partnerships to ensure access to those in need
Field teams from the Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage – the implementing partner of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center – are responsible for delivering these aid packages and meals to those in need. Particular emphasis is placed on overcrowded shelters and the most vulnerable communities in central and southern Gaza to ensure equitable distribution and that support reaches the most affected groups, including women, children, and the elderly.
Historical context and the Saudi role
This aid is not a one-off event, but rather an extension of a long history of Saudi support for the Palestinian cause. Since the beginning of the current crisis, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through its humanitarian arm (the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center), has swiftly established air, sea, and land bridges to transport thousands of tons of food, medical supplies, and shelter materials. This action reflects the Kingdom's unwavering commitment to supporting its Palestinian brothers and sisters and alleviating their humanitarian suffering under the dire circumstances in the Gaza Strip, thus reaffirming the Kingdom's leading role in humanitarian work at both the regional and international levels.
