Kuwaiti Ambassador: Our relations with Saudi Arabia are a model of brotherhood and shared destiny

Kuwait's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Sabah Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, affirmed that bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries are currently at their strongest point, emphasizing that the Kuwaiti political leadership, represented by His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, is giving exceptional attention to strengthening these fraternal ties. These remarks coincided with the Kuwaiti Embassy in Riyadh's celebrations of the 65th National Day and the 35th anniversary of Liberation Day.

A unique model of brotherhood and shared destiny

In a press statement, Sheikh Sabah Nasser Al-Sabah explained that what unites Kuwait and Saudi Arabia transcends traditional diplomatic notions of relations between states, describing it as a "family bond." He pointed out that this relationship is based on a long history, a shared present, and a common destiny, supported by deep social ties and unwavering popular and official cohesion. He added that the joy the Kingdom is experiencing is a source of pride for every Kuwaiti, and that Kuwait's celebrations resonate spontaneously and sincerely in the hearts of Saudis.

Historical depth and unforgettable moments

The Kuwaiti ambassador's remarks take on particular significance when considering the historical context of these relations, as Saudi Arabia has historically been Kuwait's strategic depth and primary supporter. The historic stance of the Kingdom, its leadership, and its people during the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990 remains vividly remembered. Riyadh served as the bastion of Kuwaiti legitimacy and the launching point for liberation operations, thus solidifying the concept of "shared destiny" that the ambassador speaks of today. These historical milestones have made Saudi-Kuwaiti relations a model of exemplary Arab and Gulf solidarity.

Strategic integration and future visions

At the regional and international levels, relations between the two countries are witnessing remarkable development, transcending emotional and historical ties to reach a full strategic partnership. This is evident through the ongoing coordination within the Kuwaiti-Saudi Coordination Council, which works to align the development goals of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 and Kuwait's Vision 2035. This economic and political integration strengthens the two countries' influence within OPEC+ to ensure the stability of global energy markets and unifies their stances on Arab and Islamic issues, thus granting them significant geopolitical influence in the region.

National holidays meet

The Ambassador concluded his statement by extending his warmest congratulations and best wishes to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and to the brotherly Saudi people on the occasion of the Kingdom's National Day, which falls on February 22. He noted that the coincidence of Kuwait's National Day celebrations with Saudi Arabia's National Day embodies a shared joy, emphasizing that these national occasions are an opportunity to renew the commitment to moving forward towards greater progress and prosperity for both countries and their brotherly peoples.
