Launching the Ambassadors of the Nation program to represent Saudi Arabia internationally with efficiency
In a strategic move aimed at enhancing Saudi Arabia's presence on the international stage, the King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue announced the launch of its specialized program, "Ambassadors of the Nation." The program, inaugurated by the Center's Deputy Secretary-General, Professor Ibrahim bin Zayed Al-Asimi, is implemented by the Center's Dialogue Academy for Training and aims to qualify and prepare Saudi delegations to represent the Kingdom effectively and with distinction at various international forums and conferences.
Program background and strategic objectives
The launch of the “Ambassadors of the Nation” program comes within the context of the major transformations taking place in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as part of Vision 2030, which prioritizes enhancing the Kingdom’s regional and global standing as one of its key objectives. With Saudi Arabia’s increasing role in international political, economic, and cultural forums, its hosting of major events such as the G20 summit, and its preparations to host Expo 2030 and the 2034 FIFA World Cup, the critical need for highly qualified national talent to represent the Kingdom’s progressive and positive image has become evident.
Al-Asimi stressed that this program represents an investment in national competencies, and aims to provide participants with the necessary knowledge and skills that enable them to perform their role as ambassadors for their country with awareness and competence, in a way that contributes to consolidating the Kingdom’s global presence and highlighting its civilizational achievements.
Training topics and development of diplomatic skills
The “Ambassadors of the Nation” program focuses on developing a comprehensive set of skills in participants, going beyond traditional protocol to encompass deeper dimensions of diplomacy and intercultural communication. The program aims to equip participants with essential diplomatic skills such as negotiation, crisis management, and international protocol, while also deepening their understanding of the contemporary international system, international organizations, international law, and current global issues.
The program also places particular emphasis on developing leadership skills, managing multicultural teams, building alliances, and conducting multilateral negotiations. It includes specialized modules that address contemporary needs, such as economic diplomacy, public and digital diplomacy, and environmental diplomacy, directly contributing to the goals of Vision 2030.
Expected impact at the local and international levels
The “Ambassadors of the Nation” program is expected to have a tangible positive impact. Domestically, the program contributes to building a generation of Saudi leaders capable of engaging effectively with the world, thus enhancing the Kingdom’s human capital. Regionally and internationally, graduating professional representatives of the Kingdom will strengthen its soft power and leading role, and contribute to building bridges of understanding and cooperation with various countries and societies around the world.
The program includes specialized training sessions presented by a select group of experts in the fields of diplomacy and international relations, covering vital topics such as presentation skills, reputation and image management, and strategic planning for international engagements, ensuring maximum benefit for participants and enhancing their readiness to represent the Kingdom in the best possible way.
