Launch of the volunteer platform of the Presidency of Religious Affairs at the Prophet's Mosque
In a strategic move aimed at enhancing the services provided to pilgrims, His Excellency the President of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudais, launched the volunteer platform dedicated to the Presidency of Religious Affairs at the Prophet's Mosque. This launch, part of the National Platform for Volunteer Work, represents a significant step forward in institutionalizing volunteer work within the Two Holy Mosques.
Promoting volunteer work and keeping pace with Vision 2030
The launch of this platform is fully aligned with the goals of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aims to reach one million volunteers annually in the non-profit sector. Serving the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors is among the noblest and most attractive fields of volunteering for young Saudi talent. The new platform serves as a reliable digital link, ensuring the organization and direction of volunteer efforts toward the actual needs of visitors and worshippers, thus increasing operational efficiency and ensuring the sustainability of services.
Platform objectives and governance standards
The platform primarily aims to attract qualified Saudi talent and offer high-quality volunteer opportunities that align with the sanctity of the Two Holy Mosques and their global mission. Through this initiative, the Presidency focuses on implementing the highest standards of governance and quality in volunteer management, from registration and screening to training and on-the-ground empowerment. Expected volunteer opportunities include crowd management, providing guidance and direction, and contributing to humanitarian services for the elderly and people with disabilities, thereby reinforcing the values of giving and generosity within Saudi society.
The pivotal role of the Presidency of Religious Affairs
This event is particularly significant given the new administrative structure that has separated religious affairs from operational services, allowing the Presidency of Religious Affairs to focus its efforts on maximizing the spiritual, intellectual, and outreach impact at the Two Holy Mosques. Therefore, the volunteer platform will be a vital support for this mission, engaging volunteers in disseminating the message of moderation and tolerance, and helping to create a spiritually enriching atmosphere for visitors, thus reflecting the Kingdom's positive image in serving Islam and Muslims.
A step towards institutional excellence
During the launch, His Excellency Sheikh Al-Sudais emphasized that the Presidency places great importance on volunteer work as a fundamental pillar of community development and serving the pilgrims. He noted that launching the platform is a significant step towards developing the volunteer work system within the Presidency of Religious Affairs, contributing to institutional excellence, maximizing the religious and humanitarian impact at the Prophet's Mosque, and ensuring a safe and accessible spiritual experience for all visitors.
