On the regional security front, Macron emphasized that France's "absolute priority" remains the safety of its citizens and military bases, as well as standing by its allies in the region, particularly the Gulf states, which could be affected by the repercussions of any large-scale military escalation. He concluded by stressing the need to take all necessary steps to restore diplomacy as the only alternative to chaos.
