Strategic projects within the Kingdom's Vision 2030

These projects are an integral part of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which aims to transform Saudi Arabia into a global logistics hub and enhance the quality of life for citizens and residents. Prince Salman bin Sultan emphasized that these projects embody the generous support and keen interest of the leadership in the development of all regions of the Kingdom. Road networks play a pivotal role in achieving the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy by connecting cities and provinces and facilitating the movement of people and goods, thus supporting economic and social growth.

Serving the guests of God and enhancing the status of Medina

Madinah holds immense religious significance, receiving millions of visitors, pilgrims, and Umrah performers annually. These projects are of particular importance as they will directly contribute to serving those visiting the Prophet's Mosque by providing a modern and safe road network that facilitates their access and movement. Developing the region's road infrastructure not only benefits its residents but also enhances the experience of pilgrims, improves traffic safety, and reduces travel times on the main routes connecting Madinah to Makkah and the rest of the Kingdom.

Details of the vital projects launched

The new package of projects included a number of key roads that will bring about a qualitative shift in traffic flow, most notably:

  • Completion of the intersection of Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Road with King Khalid Road (Third Ring Road) at a cost of 54 million riyals.
  • Improving traffic safety on the Madinah-Tabuk dual carriageway, which is 126 km long and costs 33 million riyals.
