Makkah Chamber of Commerce explores investment and cooperation opportunities with the Ghanaian Consul

Makkah Al-Mukarramah – In a move aimed at strengthening economic ties and opening new horizons for international cooperation, the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, represented by its Secretary-General, Dr. Thamer Ba’azeem, received the Consul-General of the Republic of Ghana in Jeddah, Dr. Abdulrahman Adam, at the Chamber’s main headquarters in the Holy City.

During the meeting, prospects for enhancing trade and investment cooperation between the business sectors in the two countries were discussed, in addition to reviewing the pivotal role of the Makkah Chamber of Commerce in supporting investors and facilitating effective communication channels between businessmen and women, in a way that serves common interests.

Strategic importance and historical depth

This visit comes within the context of Saudi Arabia's active economic outreach to strengthen its ties with the African continent, with Ghana being one of the most important emerging economies in West Africa. These meetings are particularly significant given the historical and religious standing of the Kingdom in the hearts of African peoples, providing a solid foundation for building sustainable economic partnerships that extend beyond traditional trade to include joint investment in vital sectors.

Alignment with the Kingdom's Vision 2030

This meeting aligns with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which seeks to diversify income sources and increase non-oil exports by opening up to new and promising markets. Economic circles view the Ghanaian market as a strategic gateway to West African markets, offering Saudi products a highly competitive edge. Conversely, the Saudi market provides a fertile environment for Ghanaian products, particularly given the incentives the Kingdom offers to foreign investors.

Effective partnerships and support for the business sector

During the meeting, the two sides discussed a range of opportunities to develop economic relations and build effective partnerships that contribute to the growth of bilateral trade. They also discussed the importance of exchanging trade delegations and holding joint exhibitions to promote investment opportunities in both countries.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of continuing coordination and ongoing communication to support the business community and open new avenues for economic cooperation between the Kingdom and the Republic of Ghana, with a focus on overcoming any obstacles that may face investors, to ensure the smooth flow of trade and achieve the desired economic growth for both parties.
