Makkah Chamber launches "Monshaat" service to support entrepreneurs and small businesses
In a strategic move aimed at strengthening the economic infrastructure in the Holy City of Mecca, the Mecca Chamber of Commerce and Industry, represented by its Entrepreneurship Center, announced the launch of the "Monshaat" Business Facilitation Office service. This initiative comes as part of ongoing efforts to support entrepreneurs and empower small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), directly aligning with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which prioritizes this sector.
Keeping pace with the Kingdom's Vision 2030
This step is particularly significant when viewed within the context of the major economic transformations underway in Saudi Arabia. Vision 2030 aims to increase the contribution of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to the GDP from 20% to 35%, recognizing them as a cornerstone of economic diversification and job creation. It is in this context that the Makkah Chamber of Commerce plays a crucial role in translating this vision into reality by providing the tools and services necessary to ensure the sustainability and growth of these projects within a competitive environment.
Integrated service system and removal of obstacles
The new service aims to provide a comprehensive suite of accessible solutions for entrepreneurs, extending beyond administrative procedures to include professional guidance and mentorship, streamlined government processes, and connections with funding and support entities. The General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises (Monsha'at), through its business facilitation offices and in partnership with chambers of commerce, regularly monitors and analyzes the challenges and obstacles facing the sector to develop innovative solutions that enhance business efficiency.
Economic impact on the holy capital
Makkah enjoys a unique economic status due to its religious significance and the millions of visitors, pilgrims, and Umrah performers it receives annually. The "Monshaat" service is expected to support vital sectors linked to the Hajj and Umrah seasons, such as hospitality, retail, and logistics, by empowering entrepreneurs to offer high-quality and innovative services. The Chamber of Commerce emphasized that this service represents a valuable addition to support programs, as it will accelerate the establishment of businesses and reduce the risks that startups may face in their early stages.
Strategic partnership between the two sectors
This initiative is part of a series of programs implemented by the Makkah Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with relevant entities to enhance integration between the public and private sectors. These partnerships aim to create an attractive investment environment, stimulate innovation, and provide quality job opportunities for young men and women in the region, which will positively impact the local economy and support comprehensive development.
