The Governor of Mecca inspects the operational readiness of agencies for the Hajj season
As part of the early and intensive preparations to ensure the comfort of pilgrims, His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Governor of Makkah Region, and Chairman of the Central Hajj Committee, reviewed the outcomes of the committee meetings and the detailed plans of the operational entities responsible for serving pilgrims during this year's Hajj season (1447 AH). This meeting reflects the Saudi leadership's keen interest in overseeing every detail to guarantee the success of the season and provide the highest quality services to the pilgrims.
Field tours and a comprehensive assessment of the holy sites
During the meeting, Prince Khalid bin Faisal listened to a detailed explanation from His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the region and Vice Chairman of the Committee. The explanation included the results of intensive field visits that encompassed the Holy Sites and a number of vital locations related to the Hajj pilgrimage. These visits aimed to assess the readiness of the infrastructure, the completion of logistical, security, and health preparations for receiving the pilgrims, and to ensure that all sectors are working in complete harmony to serve them in the best possible way.
Historical context and the Kingdom's Vision 2030 in serving pilgrims
Historically, since its founding, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has given exceptional attention to serving the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors, considering it both an honor and a great responsibility. In modern times, these efforts fall under the objectives of the "Guests of God Service Program," one of the most important programs of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to bring about a qualitative leap in the Hajj and Umrah experience. Through the development of infrastructure in Makkah and the Holy Sites, and the deployment of the latest smart technologies, the Kingdom seeks to facilitate the hosting of increasing numbers of pilgrims and Umrah performers, while maintaining the highest standards of security, safety, and public health.
The local, regional, and international impact of a successful Hajj season
The importance of preparations for the Hajj season extends beyond the local dimension of mobilizing all state resources, stimulating economic activity, and creating job opportunities in the Makkah region. Its impact is regional and international. The Kingdom's success in managing these millions of pilgrims from all corners of the earth sends a message of reassurance to the entire Muslim world. It also reinforces the Kingdom's position as a leading power capable of efficiently and effectively managing the world's largest annual human gathering, positively reflecting on its international image and highlighting its soft power in providing security and peace for millions of Muslims.
Performance indicators and raising the level of joint coordination
In line with the directives of the wise leadership – may God support them – which has dedicated all available resources and manpower, His Royal Highness the Prince of Makkah reviewed the key performance indicators of various agencies. Emphasis was placed on practical steps to enhance coordination among all sectors (security, health, services, and transportation) at all locations related to the Hajj pilgrimage. This high level of coordination ensures the provision of immediate support and comprehensive care for pilgrims, facilitating their movement and accommodation from the moment they arrive in the Kingdom until their safe return home, enabling them to perform their rituals in an atmosphere of tranquility, spirituality, and ease.
