Makkah Health Cluster and Al-Rahman Delegation: A partnership to serve pilgrims during Ramadan

In a move aimed at improving the system of services provided to visitors of the Holy Mosque, the Makkah Health Cluster a qualitative community partnership agreement with the “Wafd Al Rahman” Association, in order to enhance ways of joint cooperation and launch an integrated package of health and humanitarian initiatives that keep pace with the expected human density during the peak of the Ramadan and Hajj seasons this year.

Holistic care that goes beyond the traditional concept

This strategic agreement is based on a fundamental shift in the concept of care provided to pilgrims, extending beyond medical treatment to include spiritual, psychological, and social support. These innovative initiatives aim to offer a comprehensive healthcare experience for pilgrims and visitors, helping to alleviate the stress and fatigue that may accompany performing the rituals, particularly for the elderly and those with chronic illnesses.

Through this close cooperation, both sides aim to create a more comprehensive and inclusive health environment, supported by intensive seasonal campaigns that focus on awareness and preventative measures before resorting to treatment. This approach reflects the depth of institutional integration to achieve a sustainable societal impact, ensuring the safety of pilgrims from their arrival until their departure from the Holy Land.

Strategic dimension and keeping pace with Vision 2030

This agreement is particularly significant within the broader context of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 , specifically the "Guests of God Service Program," which aims to facilitate the hosting of more Umrah and Hajj pilgrims while providing high-quality services. This alliance also supports the objectives of the Health Transformation Program, which seeks to enhance public health, prevent disease, and improve the efficiency of healthcare services in the holy cities that host millions of people, requiring maximum preparedness.

Empowering the non-profit sector

The agreement was signed at a high-level ceremony, with Dr. Hatem bin Ahmed Al-Omari, CEO of the Makkah Health Cluster, and Ms. Mawadda Sami Aqel, Executive Director of the Wafad Al-Rahman Association, signing the agreement. This step reflects the Health Cluster's commitment to expanding its effective partnerships with third-sector (non-profit) organizations, recognizing them as essential partners in health and social development.

This cooperation is expected to contribute to easing the burden on government health facilities by activating the role of volunteers and supporting associations, thus enabling medical staff to focus on critical and emergency cases, thereby improving the quality of health outcomes and enhancing the Hajj and Umrah journey in Makkah.
