The Minister of Information launches the Media Studies Center at the Saudi Media Forum

In a strategic move aimed at strengthening the media sector infrastructure in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Minister of Media Salman bin Yousef Al-Dossari announced the launch of the Saudi Press Agency's (SPA) "Center for Media Studies and Opinion Polls." This announcement represents a qualitative leap in the mechanisms for collecting and analyzing information, as the center will serve as a reliable resource to support decision-makers and develop media policies based on sound scientific principles and in-depth analytical data.
Quality initiatives that keep pace with digital transformation
This announcement came during the Saudi Media Forum, where Al-Dossari unveiled a wide range of projects, including the launch of 12 strategic initiatives, most notably the "Saudi Mb" media innovation camp. These initiatives come at a time when the media sector is undergoing radical transformations globally, necessitating innovative tools and qualified personnel capable of navigating the realities of the digital age.
Saudi Media Forum: A global platform in Riyadh
The forum commenced under the theme "Media in a Changing World," a slogan reflecting the highly dynamic nature of today's media landscape. The forum is witnessing broad participation, with over 300 media leaders and experts from around the world convening in Riyadh to discuss the future of the industry. This edition is particularly significant due to the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, may God protect him, a point emphasized by the Minister of Media, who noted that this patronage has given the forum a broader dimension and a deeper vision befitting the Kingdom's international standing.
The importance of the research center in the modern media context
The launch of the Media Studies and Opinion Polls Center is a necessary step given the massive influx of information the world is witnessing. Having a specialized center affiliated with an official agency ensures accurate indicators of public opinion trends and helps media and governmental institutions develop effective communication strategies. The center also contributes to bridging the knowledge gap by providing rigorous research studies that serve researchers and practitioners in the media field.
Future Media Exhibition "FOMEX"
Concurrently with the forum sessions, the Future of Media Exhibition (FOMEX) witnessed a large turnout and record participation, exceeding 250 local and international companies. This exhibition is the largest media marketplace in the region, where companies showcase the latest technologies in broadcasting, artificial intelligence, and content creation, offering promising investment opportunities and fostering the exchange of expertise between Saudi companies and their global counterparts.
The forum’s activities and dialogue sessions, which number more than 150, continue to explore challenges and opportunities, and contribute directly to the development of the media industry locally, regionally and internationally, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which gives great importance to the media sector as one of the pillars of soft power and economic diversification.
