The Minister of Interior chairs the 33rd annual meeting of regional governors

His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior, chaired today the thirty-third annual meeting of Their Highnesses the Princes of the Regions, which was held via remote video communication technology, in a step that reflects the keenness of the wise leadership to continue coordination work and employ modern technology in managing the affairs of the state.
His Royal Highness the Minister of Interior began the meeting by conveying the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prime Minister – may God protect them – to Their Royal Highnesses the Princes of the Regions. His Royal Highness emphasized the wise directives that place the security of the nation and the well-being of citizens and residents at the forefront of priorities, stressing the need to facilitate and streamline all services provided to them throughout the Kingdom.
Strategic importance in light of regional challenges
This meeting is of particular importance given the current circumstances in the region. The Minister of Interior and the regional governors acknowledged the unwavering support and wise guidance of the leadership in strengthening security and stability. This periodic meeting underscores the pivotal role of the regional governorates as an effective link between the leadership and the citizens, ensuring the unification of security and development efforts in confronting any challenges, while harnessing all available resources to preserve the nation's achievements and the safety of all who reside within its borders.
The meeting also touched on the efforts made to host those stranded in the Kingdom’s airports and abroad from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, reflecting the depth of fraternal ties and unity of destiny among the GCC countries.
Keeping pace with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and digital transformation
The meeting agenda included a comprehensive review of several vital topics aimed at achieving inclusive and sustainable development. Particular emphasis was placed on aligning the work of the regional emirates with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, especially concerning the Quality of Life Program, and on supporting the non-profit sector to become an active partner in community development.
In light of the Kingdom's technological advancements, the participants discussed ways to enhance administrative and developmental services by harmonizing the spatial oversight of government entities. Emphasis was placed on maximizing the use of artificial intelligence applications and realizing the concepts of smart digital government to achieve the highest standards of excellence in government performance, ensuring speed and efficiency in project completion.
At the conclusion of the meeting, His Highness and the princes of the regions expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the wise leadership for the outstanding services provided to the pilgrims during the holy month of Ramadan, commending the integrated efforts of all sectors. Their Highnesses also formulated a set of important recommendations to be submitted to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for his guidance.
