Early preparations for the Hajj season: The Minister of Education inspects the readiness of scout camps

As part of the extensive preparations undertaken by the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to serve the pilgrims, His Excellency the Minister of Education and President of the Saudi Arabian Scouts Association, Mr. Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Bunyan, conducted a comprehensive inspection tour to assess the readiness of the public service camps established by the Association in Makkah and the Holy Sites. This proactive step aims to ensure the highest levels of operational preparedness for the Hajj season of 1447 AH and to confirm the ability of the participating scout units to provide their services to the pilgrims with efficiency and competence, reflecting the Kingdom's exemplary approach to crowd management and serving those visiting the Holy Mosque.

A long history of scouting service to pilgrims

The participation of Saudi scouts in Hajj seasons is not a recent phenomenon, but rather an extension of a long and distinguished history spanning decades. Scouting efforts in serving pilgrims began in the mid-20th century and have developed year after year to become a fundamental pillar of the support services system. This historical legacy reflects the commitment of the Kingdom's sons and daughters to the values of giving and volunteer work, and highlights the noble humanitarian role played by the scouting movement in assisting the guests of God, from guiding the lost to providing logistical support to governmental, health, and security agencies operating in the field.

Details of the field tour and figures reflecting the scale of the responsibility

During his field visit, His Excellency the Minister of Education reviewed the comprehensive preparations of the sub-camps and the operational plans in place. The tour included an inspection of the logistical, health, and organizational support mechanisms. The significance of these preparations is underscored by the numbers: 20 fully equipped scout camps have been prepared, accommodating 5,282 scouts, rovers, and scout leaders. These volunteers will undertake vital tasks including guidance, organization, and support at various locations within the Holy Sites, in strategic partnership with several relevant government agencies. This ensures the integration and unification of efforts to serve the pilgrims and facilitate the performance of their rituals with ease and convenience.

Local and international impact and alignment with Saudi Vision 2030

These scout camps hold immense importance that extends beyond local boundaries to encompass regional and international impact. By serving pilgrims to the Holy Mosque in Mecca from all corners of the earth, Saudi scouts present a leading global model of organized volunteer work that reflects the tolerance of Islam and the renowned Saudi hospitality. Locally, these efforts align closely with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which aspires to reach one million volunteers. The participation of young men and women in these camps contributes to the development of their personal skills and reinforces values of discipline, cooperation, and national responsibility, thus building a conscious and responsible generation capable of leading the future.

Employing modern technology and praising the efforts made

At the conclusion of his tour, Professor Yousef Al-Bunyan emphasized the importance of teamwork and utilizing all available resources. He commended the unwavering support provided by the wise leadership – may God protect them – to the Two Holy Mosques service system. He also noted the Scout Association's commitment to keeping pace with the evolving Hajj system by leveraging modern technologies in guidance and organization, such as digital maps and smart applications for assisting lost pilgrims, thus enhancing performance quality. His Excellency expressed his deep appreciation for the high level of patriotism and preparedness he witnessed among the participating scouts, rovers, and leaders, wishing them success in fulfilling their noble mission.
