The Minister of Interior inspects the readiness of the holy sites and Hajj plans
Historical context and leadership's interest in serving the guests of God
Since its unification and founding, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has devoted immense attention and care to serving the pilgrims, making the facilitation of their rituals and the provision of the highest levels of security and safety a paramount priority passed down through generations. Within the framework of these ongoing historical efforts, culminating today in the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 to enhance the quality of services provided to Hajj and Umrah pilgrims, meticulous on-the-ground monitoring from the highest leadership levels is essential to ensure the success of this exceptional Hajj season, which brings together millions of Muslims from all corners of the globe.
Comprehensive inspection tour by the Minister of Interior
In this context, His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Hajj Committee, inspected on Thursday the readiness of several development projects and health and service facilities in the Holy Sites. This important step is part of His Highness's intensive field visits to monitor the preparations of all entities involved in implementing the Hajj season plans and to ensure the integration of security and service efforts on the ground.
Improving the efficiency of healthcare in Mina
During his visit to Mina Emergency Hospital (2), His Royal Highness the Minister of Interior reviewed the operations of the health, medical, and ambulance services system. He toured the medical departments, observing the procedures for receiving critical cases and the plans for handling emergency calls. He received a detailed briefing on the level of integration between medical teams and support services, and the role of modern technologies in expediting response times. The hospital's operational capacity was emphasized to be increased to 100%, ensuring its full readiness to provide healthcare according to the highest standards. This reflects the Kingdom's global leadership in the field of "mass gathering medicine" and its ability to manage large crowds.
Infrastructure development: The Path of the Souls project
In Muzdalifah, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud inspected the services provided as part of the “Masar Al-Mashaaer” project. This project is of paramount importance both locally and internationally, as it aims to reduce the physical and thermal stress experienced by pilgrims and embodies the concept of “humanizing cities and holy sites.” The ongoing development of infrastructure in the holy sites, including the provision of shaded areas, green spaces, and water fountains, directly contributes to enhancing the comfort of pilgrims and reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to providing sustainable solutions that align with the Quality of Life Program.
Organizational arrangements and crowd management in Arafat
At Arafat, His Highness reviewed the organizational and service arrangements in the courtyards of the Namira Mosque, examining crowd management plans and pedestrian traffic control measures to ensure smooth movement during the Dhuhr and Asr prayers. He also visited Mount Arafat to monitor field preparations and security plans aimed at maintaining the safety of the large numbers of pilgrims on the Day of Arafat. Managing these millions of pilgrims within a limited geographical and temporal space is considered a logistical and security achievement that receives widespread international praise year after year.
Doubling efforts and field integration
At the conclusion of his tour, the Minister of Interior emphasized the importance of integration among the various participating entities, the need to redouble field efforts, and the continued development of innovative initiatives, in accordance with the directives of the wise leadership—may God support them—to dedicate all resources to serving the pilgrims. His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Makkah Region and Vice Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Hajj and Umrah, accompanied him on this tour, along with a number of dignitaries and senior officials, underscoring the high level of coordination to ensure a safe and smooth Hajj season.
