The Muslim World League expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the treacherous Iranian attacks that targeted civilian and vital areas in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, describing this escalation as a flagrant violation of all international laws, norms, and religious and humanitarian values.
In an official statement issued by the General Secretariat of the Muslim World League, His Excellency the Secretary-General of the League and Chairman of the Council of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, condemned this blatant aggression. The statement indicated that these attacks come at a sensitive time and reveal hostile intentions that contradict the principles of good neighborliness and international obligations, especially in light of the tireless diplomatic efforts exerted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to promote stability in the region.
Context of the attacks and the firm Saudi stance
Dr. Al-Issa emphasized that the treachery of these attacks is clearly evident when considering the firm moral and political stance recently adopted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in its categorical rejection of any attacks targeting Iran or endangering its people, and its sincere efforts to spare the region the ravages of wars and conflicts. However, the Iranian regime responded to these rational positions and peaceful efforts with direct aggression targeting the security and stability of the Kingdom, reflecting an approach that undermines regional and international security.
Broad Islamic solidarity
In its statement, the League emphasized that this attack not only targets the Kingdom but also poses a threat to global energy security and the stability of the entire Middle East region. His Excellency the Secretary-General, on behalf of the League's assemblies, bodies, and councils worldwide, and on behalf of the Muslim peoples under its umbrella, reiterated its complete and unwavering solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in confronting these threats.
The League declared its full support for all measures taken by the Kingdom to protect its territory, citizens, and residents, and to ensure the safety of its vital facilities. The statement concluded with a prayer that God protect the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its leadership, people, and land, from all harm and evil, and that He thwart the schemes of aggressors, affirming that the Islamic world stands united against any attempts to compromise the security of the Muslims' Qibla and the birthplace of revelation.
