Six Flags Qiddiya opening date and its most notable standard rides

In a historic move that reinforces Saudi Arabia's position as a global tourist destination, Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Dawood, Managing Director of Qiddiya Investment Company, announced the official opening date for the Six Flags Qiddiya project, confirming that the city will open its doors to visitors from around the world on December 31. This announcement came during his participation in a government press conference hosted by Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossari, where he discussed the latest developments in major national projects.
Qiddiya: The Capital of Entertainment, Sports, and Culture
Al-Dawood emphasized that the Qiddiya project is central to the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, enjoying the direct and continuous support of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman – may God protect him – since its inception. He explained that work is progressing rapidly to transform the Crown Prince's vision and aspirations into a tangible reality, making Qiddiya the new global capital for entertainment, sports, and culture, reflecting the Kingdom's commitment to diversifying its sources of income and enhancing the quality of life.
Record-breaking numbers and exceptional experiences at Six Flags
In detailing the highly anticipated project, Al-Dawood noted that the opening of Six Flags marks the beginning of a series of successive openings in the city, which boasts over 70 entertainment and tourist attractions. This theme park is the largest of its kind in the Middle East, featuring five world record-breaking rides. Leading the pack is the Falcon Flight roller coaster, which alone holds three world records, making it an unmissable destination for thrill-seekers worldwide.
Rapid developments in Aquaribia and sports projects
Regarding the city's other assets, the managing director noted that the Aquaribia water park has reached its final stages, with 95% completion, while construction is accelerating on seven other key assets. On the sports front, Al-Dawood revealed ambitious plans that include the Qiddiya racetrack hosting Formula 1 races, in addition to the readiness of the unique Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium to host matches for the 2034 FIFA World Cup, thus placing Qiddiya firmly on the global sports map.
Economic and tourism impact of the project
The opening of Qiddiya comes as part of a comprehensive strategy to boost the Kingdom's tourism sector. The city aims to open 20 hotels in the coming period to accommodate the increasing number of tourists. This project is a major driver of economic development, contributing to the creation of thousands of job opportunities for Saudi youth, attracting foreign investment, and increasing the entertainment sector's contribution to the GDP, thus solidifying the Kingdom's position as a global tourist hub competing with major international destinations.
