Naif University opens admissions for postgraduate studies 2026: specializations and requirements
Naif Arab University for Security Sciences, the scientific arm of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, has announced the opening of admissions for its postgraduate programs at the doctoral, master's, and higher diploma levels for the 2026–2027 academic year (1448 AH). The application period will run from February 8 to 26, 2026. The programs encompass a wide range of security, legal, and technical specializations that keep pace with the latest global developments.
A strategic vision to enhance Arab security
This step comes within the framework of the university's pivotal role as a leading scientific beacon in the Arab region. Since its establishment, the university has undertaken the responsibility of developing and enhancing the capabilities of Arab security personnel to confront contemporary challenges. In a statement, His Excellency the Vice President of the University, Professor Dr. Tariq bin Saleh Al-Rayes, explained that the university is continuing its development journey, building upon the success of its transformational strategy (2019–2024) and launching its new expansion strategy (2025–2029). These strategies aim to provide high-quality education that focuses on practical and research aspects, thereby strengthening the ability of Arab security agencies to deal with emerging crimes and transnational threats.
High-quality academic programs and specialized fields
This year's programs are distinguished by their diversity and focus on vital areas necessitated by technological and social changes. Dr. Al-Rayes indicated that admission includes:
- PhD programs: Specifically in the field of criminal law, to prepare high-level legal researchers and experts.
- Master's programs: These include specialized fields such as artificial intelligence for security, economic crimes, criminal law and criminal science, law enforcement, forensic science (with tracks in forensic chemistry, toxicology, and forensic genetics), criminology, cybercrime and digital criminal investigation, and national security.
- Higher Diploma Programs: These include Border Governance and Security, Drug Control Strategies, Counterterrorism, Cybercrime, and Human Rights and Criminal Justice.
Prestigious international and local accreditations
In its pursuit of institutional excellence, the university has successfully obtained full institutional accreditation from the Education and Training Evaluation Commission in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for a period of seven years, reflecting the quality of its educational outcomes and their alignment with national standards. Internationally, the university achieved a significant milestone by securing full accreditation for five years from the High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (HCERES) in France for several of its Master's and postgraduate diploma programs, granting its graduates a competitive edge and international recognition of their degrees.
Aligned with the labor market and professional requirements
The university affirmed that all its programs are classified according to the Saudi Standard Classification of Educational Levels, Specializations, and Professions. Technical programs are of particular importance, with the cybercrime program being aligned with the requirements of the "Cyber Education" framework issued by the National Cybersecurity Authority. Furthermore, the forensics programs are professionally accredited by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, enabling graduates to obtain the appropriate professional classification and practice their professions effectively in the health and security sectors, both within the Kingdom and in other Arab countries.
