Execution of 3 terrorists in Sharqia – Interior Ministry statement
The Saudi Ministry of Interior issued an official statement on Tuesday announcing the execution of three Saudi citizens in the Eastern Province, after they were convicted of committing serious terrorist crimes that threatened the security of the Kingdom and targeted security personnel and public property, in a move that confirms the Kingdom’s determination to eradicate the roots of terrorism and apply justice.
Details of terrorist crimes and convicts
According to the ministry's statement, Hussein bin Haider bin Alawi Al-Qallaf, Mohammed bin Ahmed bin Saud Al Hamad, and Hassan bin Saleh bin Mahdi Salim – all Saudi nationals – formed terrorist cells and carried out armed operations within the Kingdom. The list of crimes for which they were convicted included:
- A security officer was killed and another was injured in a direct attack targeting security personnel.
- Random and targeted shooting at security headquarters and official vehicles.
- Manufacturing explosives and possessing various weapons and ammunition with the intent to cause corruption on earth.
- Seeking to undermine security and social stability and incite discord.
The judicial process and effective justice
The execution of this sentence is the culmination of a long and transparent legal process, during which the competent security authorities apprehended the perpetrators, and thorough investigations led to their indictment for the alleged crimes. The defendants were referred to the competent court, which afforded them all judicial guarantees, and a ruling was issued confirming their guilt and sentencing them to death by way of discretionary punishment.
The ruling acquired a final and conclusive character after its appeal and confirmation by the Supreme Court, and a royal order was issued to enforce what was decided according to Sharia, which reflects the accuracy and integrity of the judicial system in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its keenness to apply the provisions of Islamic Sharia to anyone who dares to tamper with the security of the homeland.
Legal and security foundations
The Ministry of Interior’s statement was based on definitive legal texts that prohibit corruption on earth and the shedding of innocent blood, citing the Almighty’s words: “The only punishment for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive to cause corruption on earth is that they be killed…” stressing that these rulings come to protect society and deter anyone who tries to harm the security of citizens and residents.
A firm message to ensure stability
The execution of the death penalty in the Eastern Province on Tuesday, 3/7/1447 AH (23/12/2025 CE), sends a clear message from the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that it will not tolerate any attempts to destabilize security or target security personnel who are dedicated to protecting the nation. The Ministry concluded its statement with a stern warning that the full force of the law will be applied to anyone involved in such criminal acts, in its commitment to maintaining security and achieving justice.
