NHC and Ministry of Sports: Cooperation to promote sports investment and quality of life

In a strategic move aimed at elevating modern housing concepts and enhancing the quality of life in the Kingdom's urban communities, the National Housing Company (NHC) signed a significant memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Sports. The signing ceremony took place on the sidelines of the Future Real Estate Forum 2026. This partnership aims to establish a comprehensive sports infrastructure that supports sports investment and contributes to developing facilities and amenities within the company's urban developments.

The two sides were represented in signing this agreement by His Excellency the Vice President of Shared Services at NHC, Mr. Yazid Al-Nafisah, and His Excellency the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports for Sports Facilities, Engineer Thamer Basanbal, amidst the presence of a select group of experts and those interested in real estate and sports affairs.

Dimensions of the agreement and its alignment with Vision 2030

This agreement cannot be viewed in isolation from the broader national context; it represents a practical and direct implementation of the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, specifically the "Quality of Life Program." The Kingdom is actively working to increase physical activity levels in society, making it a daily lifestyle. To achieve this, the availability of accessible infrastructure is crucial. Herein lies the pivotal role of the NHC in providing walking paths, diverse playgrounds, and well-equipped sports fields within residential neighborhoods, thus facilitating residents' access to their favorite activities in a safe and stimulating environment.

Economic impact and promotion of sports investment

From an economic perspective, this memorandum opens up broad prospects for the private sector to invest in the operation and maintenance of these facilities, as well as in organizing various sporting events and activities and hosting community tournaments. This approach not only contributes to ensuring the sustainability and operational efficiency of the facilities, but also creates new job opportunities and stimulates economic activity within residential complexes, which positively impacts the market value of real estate units and makes them more attractive destinations for both residents and investors.

NHC's pioneering role in urban transformation

The National Housing Company continues to solidify its position as the largest national real estate developer in the region, with its mission extending beyond simply supplying housing units to contribute to raising homeownership rates to 70%, as per the Housing Program's objectives. The company is now working on engineering an "integrated lifestyle," where the integration of state-of-the-art sports facilities within urban planning reflects a fundamental shift in architectural thinking, making human health and well-being the central focus of real estate development. This contributes to creating healthy, interconnected, and sustainable communities for future generations.
