National Water Company completes projects in Qassim to serve 20,000 beneficiaries
National Water Company announced the completion of two vital infrastructure development projects for water and wastewater services in the Qassim region, at a total cost exceeding 48 million Saudi riyals . This achievement comes as part of the company's ongoing efforts to improve the efficiency of water and environmental services and keep pace with the region's urban expansion, serving more than 20,000 new beneficiaries.
Project details in Buraidah and Ar Rass
The company explained that the completed works included the implementation of drinking water networks and pipelines in the city of Buraidah , with lengths exceeding 65 kilometers, targeting the Al-Yarmouk, Al-Rawabi, Al-Ghadir, and Al-Rawaq neighborhoods. Simultaneously, sewage networks and pipelines were implemented in Al-Rass , with lengths exceeding 40 kilometers, to serve the Al-Shananah and Industrial neighborhoods, reflecting a comprehensive plan to address both water and environmental needs simultaneously.
Strengthening infrastructure and keeping pace with Vision 2030
These projects are of paramount strategic importance as they directly contribute to achieving the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 , specifically those related to the Quality of Life Program and the sustainability of water resources. The National Water Company operates according to a national strategy aimed at expanding the coverage of water and environmental services across all regions of the Kingdom, ensuring water security and promoting environmental protection through the safe disposal and treatment of wastewater.
Environmental and service impact of projects
The commissioning of these projects is expected to bring about a significant improvement in the level of services provided to residents of the Qassim region. Environmentally, the new sewage networks in Ar Rass Governorate will help mitigate the environmental damage caused by the use of traditional cesspools and protect groundwater from contamination. As for water supply in Buraydah, the new networks will ensure the delivery of reliable, desalinated water to homes at appropriate pressures, reducing reliance on water tankers and increasing the operational efficiency of the system.
Invitation to take advantage of digital services
In closing, the National Water Company urged residents of the beneficiary neighborhoods in both Buraidah and Ar Rass to apply for water service connections through its approved digital channels. The company emphasized that all procedures can be easily completed electronically via its official smartphone application or its online branch (e.nwc.com.sa), in line with its digital transformation strategy aimed at enhancing the customer experience.
