National Water Company: Successfully securing water supplies for pilgrims on the Day of Arafah

The National Water Company's operational plan was a success on the Day of Arafah

The National Water Company announced the success of its operational plan for the 1447 AH Hajj season, confirming the continued efficient pumping of water in Arafat and Mecca during the Day of Arafah, which represents the peak of the Hajj rituals. The company explained that it distributed and pumped a total of 828,113 cubic meters of water in the past 24 hours to meet the needs of millions of pilgrims on this blessed day.

As part of its efforts to ensure the safety and quality of water provided to pilgrims, the company's environmental teams intensified their field work, conducting 4,978 thorough laboratory tests using its mobile laboratories deployed throughout the holy sites. These tests aim to fully verify that the water meets internationally and locally approved health standards, guaranteeing access to clean and safe water for every pilgrim.

Advanced infrastructure to serve the pilgrims

This outstanding operational performance is underpinned by a massive and advanced infrastructure that the Kingdom has developed over the years. The National Water Company manages a water network exceeding 5,700 kilometers in length, supported by a wastewater network spanning more than 4,000 kilometers. The company confirmed that pumping operations continued around the clock without any significant interruptions, with engineering and field teams fully prepared to respond immediately and address any emergency reports efficiently and swiftly.

Historical context and the importance of securing water during Hajj

Managing water resources during the Hajj season presents a formidable logistical challenge, particularly in a desert region. Historically, providing water for pilgrims has been a top priority, from traditional wells to modern desalination and pumping systems. The Day of Arafah, when millions of Muslims gather in one place at one time, is the ultimate test of this system. Successfully providing sufficient quantities of high-quality water not only reflects technical capability but also represents the continuation of a long-standing tradition of serving the pilgrims of the Holy House of God.

The strategic importance of successful Hajj season management

The successful management of services during Hajj is of paramount importance on multiple levels. Locally, it highlights the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's ability to organize and manage the world's largest human gathering and reinforces its position as a leader of the Islamic world. Internationally, it sends a reassuring message to more than 1.8 billion Muslims worldwide that their rituals are performed in a safe and well-serviced environment that meets the highest standards. These efforts are in line with the directives of the wise leadership to dedicate all resources to the comfort of pilgrims and are consistent with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which aims to enhance the quality of services provided to the guests of God and offer a comprehensive and accessible spiritual experience.
