Registration requirements for palm tree subsidies 2026 and application deadline

In a move aimed at enhancing the sustainability of the agricultural sector and supporting small farmers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the National Center for Palms and Dates the opening of registration for its agricultural subsidies program for the 2026 season (1447/1448 AH). This announcement comes as part of ongoing efforts to develop the palm and date sector, which is a cornerstone of food security and a vital part of the Kingdom's cultural and economic heritage.
The importance of the palm sector and its place in Vision 2030
The date palm and date sector holds a strategic position within the Kingdom's Vision 2030 , as the Kingdom seeks to strengthen its position as one of the world's largest date exporters. Government programs, such as the agricultural subsidies program, work to increase farm productivity and promote sound agricultural practices that ensure product quality and minimize waste, thereby contributing to increased non-oil exports and a higher GDP for the agricultural sector.
Registration deadline for palm tree subsidies 2026
The center clarified that the registration period will extend for more than a month, with applications being accepted starting Sunday, February 23, 2026 (corresponding to Ramadan 6, 1447 AH), and continuing until Thursday, April 2, 2026 (corresponding to Shawwal 14, 1447 AH). The center urged all farmers wishing to benefit from the support to register through the official channels during the specified period to ensure their eligibility is assessed.
The 5 basic requirements for registration
The National Center for Palms and Dates has set a number of precise requirements to ensure that support reaches those who truly deserve it and to achieve the program's development goals. The most prominent requirements are as follows:
- Ownership and legality: The applicant must be the owner of the farm or a tenant of it with documented contracts, and must have a valid agricultural activity practice license issued by the "Hasr" platform.
- Nationality and age: Support is limited to Saudi citizens who are at least 21 years old.
- Farm area: The farm area must not exceed 50 dunams, in order to direct more support to small and medium-sized farmers.
- Number of palm trees: The number of fruit-bearing (productive) palm trees on the farm should not exceed 500.
- Water conservation: Obtaining a water conservation certificate is mandatory, a requirement that aligns with national trends in preserving water resources and using modern irrigation technologies.
Priority and selection criteria
The center indicated that if the number of eligible applicants exceeds the allocated budget or target number, fair selection criteria will be applied to determine beneficiaries. Priority will be given to the following categories:
- Those who have obtained a freelance work certificate from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development.
- Applicants with lower incomes are eligible for social support.
- Married people and the elderly, taking into account social and humanitarian aspects.
It is worth noting that these initiatives contribute directly to encouraging farmers to take care of their crops and apply the best agricultural standards, which positively impacts the quality and competitiveness of Saudi dates in global markets.
