Crown Prince receives message from King of Bahrain: Strengthening bilateral relations
His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister - may God protect him - received a written message from his brother, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the sisterly Kingdom of Bahrain, relating to the strong bilateral relations that bind the two countries and the two brotherly peoples, and ways to support and strengthen them in various fields.
The message was received by His Excellency Engineer Waleed bin Abdulkarim Al-Khuraiji, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, during his meeting today at the Ministry's headquarters in Riyadh with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Ali bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa. During the meeting, they reviewed the deep-rooted fraternal relations between the two countries, discussed matters of mutual interest, and exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues.
The depth of Saudi-Bahraini relations
This message comes within the framework of ongoing communication and continuous coordination between the leaderships of the two countries. Saudi-Bahraini relations enjoy a unique character based on a long history of close ties and a shared destiny. These relations transcend traditional diplomatic dimensions, reaching the level of a full strategic partnership, bolstered by bonds of kinship, closeness, and geographical proximity, embodied by the King Fahd Causeway, the vital artery connecting the two countries economically and socially.
Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council
Institutional mechanisms play a pivotal role in developing these relations, most notably the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council, co-chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and his Bahraini counterpart, Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. The Council works to align efforts between Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030, resulting in massive investment projects and impactful initiatives aimed at diversifying income sources and enhancing trade and tourism between the two kingdoms.
The importance of coordination in light of current challenges
At both the regional and international levels, this communication is of paramount importance given the convergence of visions and political stances between Riyadh and Manama on various issues. The ongoing coordination between the two leaderships constitutes a fundamental pillar of stability for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and a formidable bulwark against the security and political challenges facing the region, thus affirming that Bahrain's security is an integral part of Saudi Arabia's security, and vice versa.
