The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, represented by its branch in the Najran region, announced the completion of its preparations to receive worshippers. A total of 177 mosques and prayer areas in Najran city and its surrounding governorates the Eid al-Adha prayer. This step comes as part of the Ministry's commitment to providing a comprehensive and spiritually enriching environment befitting the rituals of this great day and meeting the needs of the large number of worshippers.

Comprehensive maintenance and cleaning efforts

Preparations included extensive field visits to ensure the readiness of mosques. The work carried out included comprehensive maintenance of air conditioning and lighting systems, as well as ensuring the efficiency of sound systems and their optimal distribution to guarantee that the sermon reaches all worshippers clearly. Emphasis was also placed on monitoring the cleanliness of service facilities, such as restrooms and ablution areas, and ensuring the availability of all necessary amenities to guarantee the comfort and safety of worshippers.

These tireless efforts come in implementation of the directives of His Excellency the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Latif bin Abdul Aziz Al Sheikh, who always emphasizes the importance of taking care of the houses of God and preparing them in the best possible way to receive worshippers in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility.

The historical context and religious significance of Eid prayer

The Eid prayer holds immense significance in Islamic history. It is a confirmed Sunnah (practice) of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and a prominent manifestation of joy, unity, and solidarity among Muslims. Historically, Muslims have been keen to perform this prayer in open squares and large prayer grounds to gather the largest possible number of worshippers in one place, thus strengthening bonds of love and social cohesion. In modern times, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues this authentic Islamic tradition by allocating vast spaces and large mosques equipped with the latest technologies to ensure the smooth and easy performance of this ritual.

The local and national impact of these facilities

Locally, equipping this large number of mosques and prayer halls in the Najran region contributes to easing traffic congestion and facilitating access for citizens and residents to places of worship near their neighborhoods, thus saving them time and effort. Nationally, these facilities reflect the leading role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in serving Islam and Muslims, and highlight the commitment of state institutions to achieving the highest standards of quality in the management of religious facilities.

This great attention is directly in line with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which seeks to improve the quality of life and provide a safe and comfortable environment for citizens, residents and visitors alike, especially during major religious seasons that witness heavy turnout, reflecting the Kingdom’s bright image in caring for the guests of God and the builders of the houses of God.
