Makkah's parks are being prepared to receive visitors during the Eid al-Fitr holiday

The Holy Capital Municipality has completed its preparations to prepare the public parks and gardens in Makkah, in order to receive residents and visitors during the Eid al-Fitr holiday, as part of its ongoing efforts to provide recreational facilities for families to spend enjoyable times.

Garden maintenance and rehabilitation

Preparations included maintenance and rehabilitation work on a number of parks and squares . This encompassed tending to green spaces, pruning trees and plants, maintaining irrigation networks, and repairing children's play equipment, walkways, seating areas, and lighting, ensuring these sites were ready to welcome visitors during the Eid holidays.
Field teams from the municipality intensified their cleaning, landscaping, and beautification , in addition to monitoring the readiness of service facilities within parks and recreational areas. The aim was to provide a suitable recreational environment that contributes to enhancing the quality of life and offers open spaces for leisure and recreation for residents and visitors of Makkah.
The municipality explained that these efforts are part of a comprehensive operational plan for the Eid al-Fitr holiday season, emphasizing that specialized teams will continue to monitor the sites and carry out ongoing maintenance and cleaning to guarantee the best possible services for visitors.

Various service facilities and equipment

It was reported that Makkah boasts 294 parks with a total area exceeding 2,039,993 square meters, encompassing gardens, squares, and playgrounds. These include 83 municipal squares, 184 sports fields, 11 pedestrian walkways, 11 decorative fountains, and 5 clubs, in addition to 1,711,910 linear meters of green spaces and roadside landscaping.
These sites also feature over 174,264 trees and 7,069 palm trees distributed throughout various neighborhoods, streets, and main thoroughfares. They are equipped according to the latest technical and engineering standards, including shaded seating areas, integrated service facilities, children's play areas, sports fields, walking paths, and modern lighting, thus enhancing the quality of municipal services and creating a suitable recreational environment for residents and visitors during the Eid holiday.
The Secretariat called on visitors to parks and gardens to preserve public facilities and cooperate with the relevant authorities, in order to keep these sites a distinctive recreational outlet that everyone can enjoy during the Eid holidays.
