Attorney General Dr. Khaled Al-Yousef begins his duties by meeting with the Public Prosecution Council

In a move reflecting the start of a new phase of diligent work to develop the judicial system in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Excellency the Attorney General, Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Yousef, received, at the Public Prosecution headquarters in Riyadh, Their Excellencies the members of the Public Prosecution Council, senior leaders and staff, on the occasion of his commencement of his duties and responsibilities as Attorney General.

His Excellency the Attorney General began the meeting with a welcoming address, expressing his deepest gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister – may God protect them both – acknowledging the gracious royal trust bestowed upon him. He also commended the generous and unwavering support provided to the judiciary and the Public Prosecution in particular, which has enabled it to achieve significant advancements in its operational and investigative mechanisms.

This meeting comes at a time when the Kingdom is undergoing fundamental transformations in its legislative and judicial systems, with the Public Prosecution serving as a cornerstone in protecting rights and promoting justice. It is worth noting that the Public Prosecution has undergone a historic transformation since the Royal Decree that changed its name from the "Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution" to the "Public Prosecution" and placed it directly under the King's authority. This granted it complete independence, enhancing the integrity of the judiciary and ensuring the impartiality of investigations, which aligns with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 that focus on establishing the principles of transparency and accountability.

During his meeting with senior officials, Dr. Al-Yousef emphasized that the next phase requires concerted efforts and teamwork. He stressed the importance of investing in national legal expertise and enhancing professional performance to strengthen governance and commitment.
