These figures not only reflect the scale of the effort exerted but also highlight the high efficiency in managing and directing volunteer human resources towards the actual needs of citizens and residents.

Diversity of routes and integration of services

The volunteer efforts were not limited to one aspect, but included a comprehensive package of pathways to ensure the inclusiveness of the service, as the volunteer opportunities were distributed as follows:

  • Therapeutic services: topped the list with 432 opportunities, which contributed to reducing waiting lists and providing specialized medical consultations.
  • Preventive services: I had 280 opportunities, focusing on awareness and early detection, which is consistent with the modern healthcare model that focuses on prevention before treatment.
  • Support services: 216 opportunities were provided to support operational and logistical processes.
  • Studies and research: 26 opportunities were allocated to support the research aspect and the development of services based on scientific evidence.

National context and the importance of health volunteering

These figures are significant because they are a key contributor to the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 , which aims to reach one million volunteers annually in the non-profit and governmental sectors. Health volunteering is a cornerstone of this initiative, as it contributes to strengthening social solidarity, improving the quality of healthcare services, and has a significant economic impact by reducing operational costs for the formal healthcare system.

Experts confirm that the high number of volunteer hours in Al-Qassim reflects the growing culture of volunteerism among healthcare professionals and community members. The number of participating volunteers reached 13,074 , including 8,974 males and 4,061 females. This significant turnout highlights the vital role played by healthcare workers in serving their community outside of official working hours, driven by a strong sense of national and humanitarian duty.

Sustainability of impact and future aspirations

The Qassim Health Cluster affirmed that these results are a continuation of the unlimited support provided by the wise leadership – may God protect them – to the volunteer sector, empowering volunteers through official platforms that guarantee their rights and document their volunteer hours. The cluster seeks to continue this approach by offering high-quality and innovative volunteer opportunities in the future, aimed at bridging gaps in healthcare services and reaching remote and underserved areas, thus making health volunteering a strategic partner in sustainable health development in the region.
