Qatar affirms its support for Yemeni unity and the priority of political dialogue

The State of Qatar reaffirmed its firm and unwavering stance on the Yemeni issue, emphasizing its full support for Yemen's unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, as part of its ongoing commitment to regional stability and preventing further escalation of tensions. This reaffirmation reflects Qatar's long-standing diplomatic vision, which advocates for prioritizing reason and wisdom in addressing complex regional crises.
In the context of the complex Yemeni situation, Doha stressed that the only way out of the current crisis lies in comprehensive national dialogue and national reconciliation, rejecting military solutions that have proven ineffective in achieving lasting stability. Qatar's repeated positions have emphasized the need for all parties to adhere to the agreed-upon international frameworks, namely the Gulf Cooperation Council initiative and its implementation mechanism, the outcomes of the comprehensive Yemeni national dialogue, and relevant Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2216.
Returning to the historical background of the crisis, Yemen has been suffering for years from a bloody conflict that has led to a sharp deterioration in humanitarian and economic conditions, plunging the country into what the United Nations describes as the world's worst humanitarian crisis. Since the outbreak of the conflict, Qatar, other countries in the region, and the international community have consistently warned against the dangers of partitioning Yemen or undermining its social fabric, considering Yemeni unity a safeguard not only for Yemenis but also for Arab and Gulf national security in general.
Qatar's call for dialogue is particularly important at this time, given the geopolitical ramifications of the Yemeni crisis on the security of international waterways and global trade, as well as its direct impact on the security of neighboring countries. Observers believe that the continued instability in Yemen opens the door to foreign interventions that could further complicate the situation, making a political solution an urgent necessity to thwart any agendas that do not serve the interests of the Yemeni people.
The Qatari vision concluded by emphasizing Doha’s support for the brotherly Yemeni people in their ordeal, calling on the international community to intensify humanitarian and political efforts to end the ongoing suffering, and to work diligently to rebuild Yemeni state institutions in a way that guarantees a decent and safe life for all the people of Yemen.
